    ITS STORY

    Bodyboard is a watersport close to surf but with a smaller and more flexible board. Tom Morey created this sport. He invented the said board, lighter than a surfing board, covered by a rubber layer. This kind of board is usually used lying down. The bodyboarder's equipment is a wetsuit, a board and a pair of short slippers.

    ITS CHAMPIONS

    Mike Stewart was a multi-titled champion in the 90's.

    Guilherme Tamega, born in Copacabana, was titled 6 times bodyboard world champion and 6 times vice-champion.

    Nicolas Capdeville, born in 1971 in France, is a 3 times world champion.

    ITS VOCABULARY

    Beach break:
    Place where the waves break on the beach. In opposition to Point Break where the waves break on rocks.

    Backside:
    Surfing on the back of the wave.

    Bottom turn:
    Shift at the end of the wave.

    Curl:
    Core of the wave.

    Frontside:
    Surfing in front of the wave.

    Goofy foot:
    Left handed.

    Leash:
    Strap between the surfer and his board.

    Left:
    Wave unfolding on the left.

    Line up:
    Zone where the surfer waits for the wave.

    Zone where the wave begins to unfold.

    Regular foot:
    Right handed.

    Right:
    Wave unfolding on the right.

    Surfing Spot:
    Place where surfers practice.
