    1. Tyre tips
Tyres: Whether you do road or mountain bike training on the home trainer, we highly recommend using a tyre specially designed for use on home trainers. Benefits: 1. Longer lifespan with its reinforced structure and harder rubber. 2. Reduces tyre rolling noise.
    2. Stability tips
Stability: When cycling on a home trainer, the rear wheel of your bike is well stabilised and slightly raised. For greater stability, you should also use a front wheel riser block. Benefits: 1. Stabilises the front wheel. 2. Raises the front wheel so that the bike is perfectly level.
    3. Protection tips
Protection: When training indoors, perspiration often drips onto the bike or the floor. We recommend using the following equipment: 1. A sweat guard to stop perspiration (acidic) dripping onto your bike and damaging it. 2. A home trainer mat to reduce noise and provide stability and added protection against perspiration.

    • great entry level turbo trainer

      Sarah (United Kingdom)

really good turbo trainer - pack includes mat for dripping your sweat on, and the front whee raiser. All great stuff, but the instructions for putting your bike on the frame were rubbish...I am new to turbo trainers, and was looking for comprehensive instructions. Didn't realise I needed a bike with a quick release back wheel for this to work. Also found the picture diagrams unhelpful in working out what went where. HOWEVER, once I sussed all that out, the equipment supplied is really good and I have been using it regularly over the past month.
solid construction, great range of resistance
      naff instructions!
    • Good Turbo Trainer for the money

Was looking for a turbo trainer to do some indoor cycling when the weather limits getting out and about. Saw this at Decathlon at a reasonable price (£99) and had good reviews given the price. Have used it several times without any problems although the handlebar lever should not be adjusted by four year olds when it's off the bike....

It's easy to put together in a matter of minutes. I also bought a trainer tyre as well as a speed/cadence sensor and a heart sensor which I use through an app on my phone to assess performance. In reading about using a turbo it's good to have a training plan/goal rather than just turning the pedals.

The trainer itself seems to do what it's supposed to. The resistance levels mean you can really push the heart rate up and do a proper workout. I've yet to get round to using the DVD so cant comment on that.

Overall I'd recommend for someone who's looking to get a reasonable turbo trainer at a low entry cost although you'll probably need to spend a little more to make the most of indoor training in terms of the sensors to get an accurate assessment of the effort you're putting in.
Easy to set up and use. Effective trainer
      Handlebar lever a bit fragile
    • Excellent Product

Bought this trainer to keep me training through the winter, set-up is incredibly easy. Just ensure that you get the roller appropriately secured to the wheel, if it's too loose you can get slippage.

In terms of feel it is brilliant at a constant speed. Changing through the resistances is good for 2-3 changes either way. However if you go for big changes (such as for sprints) it can take a while to catch up. However this is to be expected and is true of most trainers.

My only criticism is that it could perhaps be a little more stable. However i am 6'6 and 105kg and use it on a 3rd floor balcony, so such stability concerns may well be specific to me ! I still feel confident enough to do flat out sprints, 1 foot away from making a mess on the pavement.

For the price, it is incredible value and I would recommend it to anyone

      Slightly jerky resistance changes
    • Great piece of kit

Frustrated at not being able to get out on my new Triban 520 thanks to the terrible weather I decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a trainer. Now I wish I'd got one sooner.

Really pleased with the Tacx Blue Motion: easy to set up and great to use, but like someone has said I wish I'd bought myself a sweat catcher at the same time because boy does this trainer encourage you to work hard!
Good value, quiet, folds for easy storage
      None I can think of
