Before performing any work on your electric bike (cleaning, electrical or mechanical maintenance), you must turn off your electric bike and remove the battery.

    • Faulty controller

I wrote a review on the Bebike 500 which I had for one month!

So the store upgraded me to this option.

      Pros
      Easy ride
      Good battery, fast assist.
      Handle on battery.

      Cons
      Saddle...double ouch!!
      Heavy bike
Brake pads and tension need constant adjustment

      Faults
Aaargghh again the controller is displaying a fault after just one month of use.

So what can I say....well the head office staff are superb, nice friendly, great service and instant resolutions. I cannot fault the customer service from Decathlon either online or in store.

But please fix this issue. Any bike should withstand all weathers year round without electrical faults. My previous ebike never had any issues.
      Response of the brand
Hello, Thank you for your review on the BEbike 700. I have forward your issues to the product manager. Some of the issues you mentioned I mentioned to him when I was in Lille last week. I hope that we will soon see an improvement on this product. As before, do not hesitate to return this product.

    • Great bike - but poor saddle and pedals

I've had the bike for a week now and have been impressed overall by the quality and ride, but, agree with other reviews that the saddle is poor. Come on Decathlon - change this to something better or allow customers to change it at no cost for something else in the range. As well as the saddle, I have issues with the pedals - my feet keep on moving and slipping off - they don't grip well in the wet. I can;t add tostraps/clips to them either. These simply have to go - I'll be swapping mine with an older bike. £670 to then have to change the saddle and pedals is bonkers.
The rear of the bike is very heavy - a mid mounted battery makes a lot of sense. This is very heavy to pick up to turn it around, and is hard to balance at low speed. That being said, its a big and powerful battery and is easy to re-charge.

I'd recommend this without problem but suggest buyers order one into a store and try for themselves with these comments in mind before committing.

    • An honest appraisal after 3 weeks of ownwership

I cannot exphasis enough how uncomfortable the saddle is and it is sufficient to make me regret buying the bike now. By the time I have completed 5 of the 8 miles to travel to work I am feeling pain. Had I been able to test drive the bike, as you would a car before purchase, then this issue would have been identified and I would have walked away from this product and bought something else.
The battery gives a good 3 days worth of assistance for my journeys covering a total of 48 miles which include quite a few slopes, and a bit of stopping/starting at traffic lights and various cycle lane crossing points.
The bike seems quite sturdy but is not as light as you would hope for.
Would be good if decathlon could help in some way to swap the saddle over for something less painful. It really is the only thing I can fault this bike on, but unfortunately it is also a very major negative point of this bike for me.
36v battery range is better than expected.
Very uncomfortable saddle puts you off riding bike
