    Product feature
    1. Waterproofing
The FREE 500 jacket was designed to withstand up to 6 hours in the snow. The jacket has been designed to face the elements (rain, snow, wind..) with rigorous features and a rigorous construction to block out water. To check its water resistance, the trousers have been placed under a special shower that reproduces the conditions a skier could be confronted with.
    2. Waterproof fabric
The water repellent quality of a fabric is its capacity to allow water to run over its surface without absorbing it. The FREE 500 jacket is made from water resistant materials to prolong its resistance to bad weather. It’s an additional technical solution to stay dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. You need to regularly renew this treatment with the help of the products sold in our stores to keep its properties.
    3. Coating treatment
The coating is a waterproof ‘substance’ that’s spread on the inner side of the fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by an active body to escape. So you will stay dry and comfortable while hitting the slopes
    4. Membrane
The membrane is a very thin component applied to the inner surface of the outer fabric. This hydrophilic component prevents water from seeping in while wicking away perspiration. The membrane is unbeatable when it comes to staying warm and dry.
    5. Waterproof main seams
As well as the waterproof material, taped seams are incorporated to strength the waterproofing of the FREE 500 jacket. There are waterproof and adhesive strips on the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These sealed seams are on the parts that are most exposed to the snow. These are usually located on the shoulders and chest.
    6. Wadding thermal lining
To ski without being "too hot or too cold", the garment should suit the type of physical activity and the external environment. We use wadding for insulation to keep you warm. The wadding is a synthetic material with a polyester base that stores a greater or lesser quantity of air depending on the size of fibres used. There are different types of wadding, including standard, technical and siliconized, which all have different properties (for warmth, lightness and suppleness...)
    7. Thermal insulation
"The finishing at the end of the sleeves has adjustable velcro fastenings to go on top of or underneath gloves, allowing better water resistance and preventing snow from entering if there’s a snowfall or uncomfortable cold air from getting in. In addition, because the cold is a source of irritation, Wedze have incorporated a soft fleece chin protection that protects your face and avoids irritations on your neck and chin.”
    8. Advice on temperature control
Wearing the right kit on the ski slopes In order to keep warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-layer rule. The principle is simple: Use 3 layers of fabric, each having a particular function. Your skiing base-layer and your liner jacket must produce and retain warmth. Your ski jacket will protect you from the weather conditions. All these layers should be breathable in order to evacuate humidity.
    9. Breathability
It’s the ski jacket’s ability to allow moisture produced during exercise to escape to the outside, keeping you dry. To find out if a fabric is breathable, its evaporative resistance, called RET (standardized test ISO 11092), is measured. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wedze uses technical components and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) preventing condensation inside the garment. FREE 500 Jacket RET: 12
    10. Windproof
It’s the garment’s ability to resist wind. The fabric is made windproof through the coating or the application of a membrane on its inside. On the ski slopes while skiing or resting on the chairlifts at rest, you’ll be protected from the wind and your body won’t get cold, making you more comfortable.
    11. Durability
We’re aware of the energy that’s used during days skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing the combination of features that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection. Because sharp skis can sometimes damage or cut the lower parts of ski pants or ski jacket epaulettes, Wedze has integrated high-performance reinforcements to prevent tearing to the maximum.
    12. Storm cuffs
Cuffs on the ski jacket sleeves, on the wrists. They stop snow getting in in the case of a fall or unpleasant air getting in.
    13. Ski pass pocket
You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket to allow you to access the cable cars quickly.
    14. Snow skirt
The snow skirt represents a tear protective system which is fastened by press studs at the bottom of the skiing or snowboarding jacket. It stops snow and air getting in when skiing and particularly in the case of a fall.
    15. Audio output
The jacket features an Audio output in the inside pocket for passing a hands-free phone kit, audio cable for listening to music, etc.
    16. Care instructions
To optimise your jacket's performance and durability, we advise the following: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care tag carefully.
