Bought as present to use as a bike to get from halls to uni lectures and back. Not intended for serious biking.
      Great value for money
Basic but for the price and use it was fine
    • Good basic bike for the money

Totally great frame, stem, handle bars, seat post
The rest of the mechanicals unfortunately can't stand up to daily use.
Main chain set is poor quality and teeth just wear out in regular use.
Front derailer changer is weak and loses adjustment and often jams chain.
Rear chain set is fine and seems to last ok but the rear detailed is poor quality and either shears off bending the frame or just stops working.
Twist grip gear changers don't last long a couple of months at best.
My advice would be to buy this bike if you don't intend doing much cycling. If you are just pay more money for better quality components.
    • Easily breakable

i would like this bike to get a suspension because it hurts my backside every time i go on a bump and have given me bruises. Another point is i would like the shifting to be easier because on my first day it broke and the tires are not good quality either. In general all i want to see is a new and better improved version of this bike please, overall its not a bad bike.

please take my opinion in consideration and do something about your bike.

      Thank you
      Response of the brand
Thank you for your feedback regarding this bike. We have the Rockrider 340 which has front suspension which gives more comfort.
For added comfort of your posterior, the best upgrade may be a suspension seat post which takes the sting out of the road rather than a cheap full suspension bike which adds a lot more wight and makes it a lot less efficient to pedal with.
This bike is being totally reworked for 2017 and will disappear from our range in it's current form.
If you are not satisfied with your bike, you are welcome to return it to us for a refund as we have a 365 day returns policy.

    • Bad chain/gear ratio

      11/09/2016
      Ian (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
I bought this new in decathlon,Barcelona, Spain. As soon as I got on the bicycle I had issues changing gear, then after only less than 2 minutes the chain can off the gears completely. I knew I was buying a cheap bike to get around for a while, but I was not expecting the chain and gears to be so troublesome. I turned the bicycle upside down as soon as I got home and studied the gears individually as I shifted gently through each one there was a problem with 75% of each shift up/down. This needs to be redesigned and taken back to the drawing board !
      Response of the brand
      Dear sir,
I'm sorry to hear that you've had such trouble with your gears. It's a shame that the gears were not set up correctly for you.
Please visit your nearest Decathlon store in Spain where they can adjust them for you free of charge.
