  • Good but flawed

    Ayriss (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
Have now owned my Town 9 EF for over 6 mths. Initial impressions good. Ready2go out of box. Very quick to fold and unfold. The hard material of the wheels and smooth gliding bearings mean low rolling resistance. The deck, whilst not the biggest is more than sufficient for my size 9s.
There are a few downsides though. The front suspension has gone soft - completely compresses under my weight (I am within the design weight limit). This in turn means the font mudguard chaffing with frame (resolved by me removing a plastic guard that it fouled against). Not a criticism but just a fact of having hard compound tyres is thatfirm wheels whilst aiding low rolling resistance and good wear become slippery in the wet along with much reduced brake efficiency. Wet use requires care not just with braking but when turning in case scooter slides out from under you.
Overall, I am happy with the scooter use it often and am happy to recommend. However the flaws mean I can't give the full 5 stars
Low rolling resistance. Quick fold. Good in dry.
    Weak suspension. Handbrake dubious

Used for More than 1 year
I purchased my scooter last year to use for exercise. I'm lucky as i live on a housing estate that has reasonably good foot paths and nicely landscaped. I try and scoot for half an hour a day at least 5 days a week. I have worked out a circuit that suits me, and i do this twice and that takes me half an hour.It is important though that you swap legs at regular intervals.Due to what i have read from others i am a fair weather scooter...don't want to risk falling off in the wet. At first i felt very self conscious and dreaded meeting a year on and i'm loving it.I always smile as i go by and some people stop me to chat. I always give warning as i approach the bell is a great extra.I have managed to drop 2 stone with a healthy diet and this regular exercise. It is great for toning you up.I even had a compliment paid about the scooter by a teenager as i passed the local skate park :-)...At 51 i really enjoy my daily work out, far better than going to a gym. I hope this review will prompt more of you more mature ladies to get out there!
Great fun, and brilliant form of exercise
Nothing at all negative to say about this model
  • The best adult scooter I've ever used

    Simon (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
A great adult scooter that is great for commuting in the city without looking like I'm looking for a skate park.

Ive had several different makes of scooter but I don't think I'll ever have to look for anything better again.

It looks fantastic and rides like a dream.
Stylish, professional, great for the tube.
    None I can think of
  • Great but risky in the wet!

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Been using my Town 9 EF now for about three weeks & it's been great. It's cut my walk to work in half. Sadly though wheels are very treacherous in the wet & I suspect rubber would be a much better choice. I have heard a rumour that the next model may be listening & going with rubber wheels,if true, hopefully they will be comparable with my current scooter so I can switch them out!

Generally a great product though & I would defiantly recommend it. I do have to carry it at times though & it is quite weighty, so far I've found little use for "trolley mode", which comes over more as a gimmick then anything due to it been too awkward.

The optional child carrier is great though I've only used it a couple of times.

On another plus side, it really does confuse other people who are not used to seeing adults on a scooter!
    Fun & efficient.
Slippy in the wet, quite a big problem in the UK!
  • Danger in wet weather break don't work in wet ....

    Liz (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
If i have read the reviews first...I may well would not have brought it for the price i paid. you can NOT use the break in damp or wet weather, ( pointless for the UK customer then) it just does not work. the back foot break isn't that good either in wet or dry actually.... ...and it just slips from under you for no reason in wet weather. I've fallen of twice and only going slowly. I take it's because its un treadded wheels and smooth plastic rather than rubber...or if they are rubber they have no tread/ grip.
positive side tho do cover miles quicker and as it's for the adults mainly the handle bars to raise high enough so not to hurt you knee as I kept doing so on my child's scooter...with the more bend at the knee. This didn't hurt at all. . Would I recommend?.... with the above caution only
    Covers miles quickly
can;t use break in the wet weather and slips away
