    • Great buy

Had this bike for 7 months now, it's my first road bike and I'm very impressed for what I paid for it, nice gear changes, good braking and nice looks, I use it for commuting 10 miles per day and weekend leisure rides 20-30 miles, it's been very comfortable for these types of rides, I did think about changing the tyres, but still on the original tyres and they seem fine had no punctures. This is a great entry level road bike and would thoroughly recommend

    • Started well

When I got the bike home i noticed some scratches on crossbar and rear section. I don't think i did it transporting it but can't be bothered to argue. High Gears seemed noisy, recently put it on turbo trainer and noticed the rear cassette top 2 high gears had bent teeth, as they are hardened steel they must have always been like it, you would think they'd notice when the do the PDC. Also recently changed pedals for Shimano clipless and found the originals were not a matching pair. The rear cassette is only major issue but cheaper to replace myself than take back (a 70 mile round trip). Shame really, it's otherwise generally good bike, but put me off buying from Decathlon again
      light weight, good brakes

    • Impressed so far!

Having spent the majority of my cycling days on a single speed I was a excited to purchase a road bike that had gears. Cycling roughly 20 miles per day to and from work through central London, I was after a new bike that was fast, light, and trustworthy. Despite some of the negative feedback, it was the high number of positive reviews alongside its price that finally lead me to take the plunge! Despite having only been using the Triban 500 SE for three weeks now I must say that I am very impressed so far. I was impressed by its speed, light weight as well as its breaking capabilities. I thought that my single speed was fast, the Triban 500 is at another level. Though it's still early days, I look forward to trialing this bad boy out on more challenging roads in the Highlands or France!!
