    Product feature
    1. How to choose the right wetsuit (Part 1)
The first selection criterion when choosing a surfing wetsuit is the water temperature. Water temperature varies according to the location and the time of the year. Systematically make sure that the water temperature at your spot corresponds to the recommended temperature range: Warm water above 20°C. Temperate water between 17 and 22°C. Cold water between 12 and 17°C. Very cold water between 7 and 12°C. Visit the site seatemperature.org to find out the temperature of your spot.
    2. How to choose the right wetsuit (Part 2)
The 2nd criterion to take into account is the length of your sessions. If your sessions last less than an hour, the 100 models will be suitable. For up to 2 hours, opt for the 500 models and for up to 3 hours, the 900 models. Compared to the 100 models, the 500 models will be warmer (and more watertight) and more efficient at reducing fatigue (more freedom of movement) and irritation. The same is true for the 900 models compared with the 500 models. NB: the 900 models are easier to put on.
    3. Choose the right size
To make the most of the features of your wetsuit, it is necessary to choose the correct size. A surfing wetsuit should be a very tight fit and there should be no visible folds. When dry, it is perfectly normal to feel like it is too tight, this discomfort disappears as soon as the wetsuit gets wet. If you choose a wetsuit that is too big, folds will appear, you will experience irritation and thermal insulation will be reduced (letting in water). Try it on before you buy it!
    4. How does neoprene work?
By trapping a thin layer of water around the body, a neoprene wetsuit works in two ways: 1. The trapped water gradually warms up; 2. Heat transfer from the body decreases. The wetsuit and the thin covering of water form a layer of insulation.
    5. Materials
This Tribord 100 4/3 wetsuit is made with genuine neoprene to ensure even better thermal insulation. The neoprene is lined with polyamide fabric for added resistance to wear. Neoprene thickness: 4 and 3 mm. Neoprene is a closed-cell polychloroprene elastomeric foam with trapped nitrogen bubbles that have insulating properties. We test and guarantee the thermal quality of our neoprene materials.
    6. Neck
The neck finish has been developed to limit irritation. According to the sensitivity of the wearer, a UV top can be worn under the wetsuit to reduce the risk of irritation. The application of grease (e.g. Vaseline) in friction areas (neck, underarms, knees) is also recommended if wearing the wetsuit for long periods. Make sure the flap is always inside the wetsuit to limit the risk of irritation with the zip and the neck.
    7. Watertight assembly
The seams are stitched and glued to ensure a watertight seal and durability. The seams are blind-stitched, which means the thread does not pass through the entire thickness of the neoprene and so prevents water from getting through. The absence of threads on the inside avoids irritation and chafing. Patches for comfort and reinforcement are strategically placed on the inside in sensitive areas.
    8. Fastening
Our zips and fastenings are laboratory tested in order to ensure an optimal lifespan and good resistance to salt water. We have put the zip at the back of the wetsuit for more comfort during surf sports (when lying down to paddle).
    9. Anti-chafing design
We designed this product with seamless panels under the arms to limit irritation due to the repetitive paddling movements associated with surf sports.
    10. Stay warm for longer thanks to our thermal accessories! Each temperature range has its own outfit...
When we are in the water, we lose more than half of our body heat through our extremities (feet, hands, head). Consequently, here are the recommended accessories: - in warm water and temperate water (>17°C) => neoprene low booties. - in cold water (12 - 17°C): High booties (boots) and gloves. - in very cold water (7 - 12°C): High booties (boots), gloves, hood and hooded top... 11. Multi-water sports wetsuits
Our wetsuits are designed to meet the needs of the most demanding surfers. Our design choices also make them compatible with other water sports such as kitesurfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding, water skiing, sea wading or SUP (stand up paddle boarding).
    Product testing
    1. Composition
      Foam : 100.0% Rubber - Chloroprene (CR) - Neoprene Lining : 100.0% Polyamide (PA)
    2. Storage advice
In a dry, ventilated place. Avoid heat sources. To extend the life of your wetsuit, do not leave it out to dry in direct sunlight. Machine washing is not recommended.
    3. Cleaning advice
Rinse in clean water, do not machine wash, do not leave in direct sunlight as sunlight speeds up the ageing process of neoprene.
    4. Product restrictions

    • Fantastic wetsuit

      14/09/2017
      Dave (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
Bought this to join the kids in the cold Cornish Atlantic sea in Easter. Absolutely brilliant. Well made, solid and I honestly got warmer in it as I waded in and out looking after the kids. It may be a bit too chunky for some and restrict mobility, but for body-bording and sitting in the sea for 90 minutes a pop, it was brilliant.

Exactly what I wanted, can't fault anything.

We have bought several of these over the years. They are excellent quality and value.
    • Fantastic for use in Scotland

      Steven (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Purchased in August 17 for a holiday on Tiree, an island off the Atlantic coast of Scotland. This surpassed expectation, made the chilly Atlantic feel like a swimming pool. Swam, surfed and jumped the waves for over 2 hours at a time without feeling the chill of the sea. I'm 6ft, went for a medium which is a good tight fit and creates a sealed environment. This wetsuit massively surpassed expectations!
    • Great for the price BUT...

      Sebastian (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Used this wetsuit a lot in Barcelona. For the price, it's good. I never felt like it restricted my performance. But there are two major problems with this suit. The main one being the neck area, the seal is awful, and velcro is just not strong enough to hold it together. The velcro keeps coming undone and sticking to my hair, or folding on itself and sticking to other parts of the wetsuit. This leads to a great amount of water entry, and loss of time spent trying to fix it between each wave...

The other problem is the knee area. I paddle on my knees a lot being a longboarder, and the knee area has worn out to much already.

Here's how it could be improved:

-Larger velcro piece to secure neck seal, or zip system.

      -More durable knee area.
