    Product feature
    1. How is backpack volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standardised method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
    2. Backpack technical tests
All components are approved in laboratory tests, including:fabric, buckles, straps, foam, zips, etc. Example, for a fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, colour-fastness in UV rays, washing, waterproofing, etc A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the fabrication. The backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy which then reproduces the movement of fast walking through thousands of cycles.
    3. A ranking to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated for the whole life cycle with different indicators. An overall ABCDE ranking has been created to make it easy for you to identify the products with the best environmental impact by comparing them with other similar products (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon has chosen to display this environmental information voluntarily. For more information:

    • Fab little bag!

      GEM (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
I love this. For £1.99 I wasn't expecting much to be honest. I was very pleasantly surprised.
You can get a surprising amount in it and it folds up so small that you can just pop it in your glove box, pocket or in the boot for unexpected occasions. It is just big enough for a couple of hours hours walking.
I loved it so much I bought another two for my children.

      Ideal for a days hiking
    • Handy compact bag

      Tin (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
This rucksack is light and convenient, and can be stored neatly in one's pocket or in the front compartment of your car for occasionally use.
    • Not as practical as I'd expect it to be

      G. (United Kingdom)

I'm quite disappointed with this bag. It roughly does its job for its price, but I was under the impression that it was an improved version of an older one I had, which I used for two years before losing it and seems to have sadly been discontinued now. Instead, it turned out it's smaller, much more difficult to take out of its pocket and even worse to fold back in. The sting that holds the little pocket has already fallen apart after a few weeks although I haven't really used it that many times.
Also, the pocket annoyingly gets in the way every time I try to close the zip, and I always end up with that frustrating moment at the supermarket till when I can't fit all my groceries inside (we're not talking family shopping here!) and I either have to hold the extra products in my hands, fit them in my handbag, or worse, buy a plastic bag, which didn't happen with the older, slightly larger but equally compact bag.
Perhaps I'd have had a different impression if I hadn't bought it as a replacement for another product, seeing as everyone else seems to be happy with it, but my expectations were a bit higher in this instance as it seemed to be the only choice I was given, even when I looked with other retailers.
    • Handy packaway rucksack

Handy packaway rucksack, fits in the pocket means extra carrying space for unplanned purchases. Very light but appears to be quite strong.
