    Product feature
    1. A down jacket designed with respect for the environment
We take care of our planet to preserve our natural playground and contribute to the pleasure of hiking. Therefore we opted for a lining of recycled polyester fibres. Our way of limiting our carbon footprint. We have also chosen to use a dye without water on the lining of the sleeves in order to limit our water impact.
    2. The avantages of a synthetic padded lining
The padded lining is an interesting alternative to feathers: - good thermal insulation capacity even when wet - rather breathable and can be used for dynamic activities (feather lining is recommended for static activities) - Ease of care: machine washable at 30° and can go in the dryer
    3. In case of rain
The material of this down jacket is water-repellent. Water droplets will roll off the fabric which delays the water penetration. This gives you time to find shelter. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We recommend that you wear a waterproof jeacket over the down jacket in case of prolonged exposure to rain.
    Product testing

    2. Storage advice
Store on a hanger in a clean and dry place
    3. Product restrictions
Not suitable for hiking in the rain
    4. Product catchline
This down jacket can be worn all seasons owing to its lightness and inner lining which limits air passing through. Perfect for lowland hiking.
    5. Lab tested
All our down jackets have been laboratory tested on thermal manikins in 5km/h winds, reproducing hiking under moderate exertion. This allows you to make the best choice by comparing the degree of thermal insulation on a scale of 1 to 5.

    • Review of jacket

      David (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Lightweight but zip on pocket broke in a couple of months (NB not wear every day)
    • A 'go-to' jacket

      Martyn (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This is a great 'go-to' jacket, light enough yet warm enough for those cool moments. It folds down well and is perfect to crush into a day sack for extra warmth if and when needed.
    • Not sure where this fits in the layering

      Graham (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Construction is up to Decathlon's usual standards, but this is neither a mid-layer (too bulky to wear indoors like a pullover) and too insubstantial/durable to wear as an outer-layer. The style of the neck is also a little strange to me - too flimsy to be a tunnel neck. Might look better over a shirt, but that's not really the idea of a hiking product. Maybe it is better suited to the shooting fraternity?
    • QUECHUA Arpenaz 20 Men's Hiking Down Jacket Blue

      Hanna (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
It is a very good product. I have bought the same model for women (dark blue colour with yellow colour inside). I and my husband skied on mountains (height is 2000 metres, -3 degrees, windy) in these jackets. Under these jackets we had only inner layer from decathlon and one sweater + scarf. These jackets are very light and perform excellent against any kind of wind.
