Disappointed this jacket has been discontinued. Looking forward to new model. Worn very frequently for 12 months in cold, windy, wet and snowy Scotland, walking and climbing. Very waterproof, very rugged, good hood. Breathability not good, but pit zips work very well. Layer management is essential. Best in cold weather for this reason. But in winter conditions, rain, sleet, snow, wind, works great.
Hi I have been wanting to buy one of these or similar but they seem to have run out or disconmtinued the line. Can ypu please advise as it looks like a good jacket. BTW I tried the Forclaz 400 which fitted well except for the hood, which could not fit over a cycling helmet. Therefore no use to me.
Thank you for taking the time to enquire about the Simond Mountaineering Jacket.
I can confirm that this jacket has now been discontinued. The brand is currently awaiting the new version of the Mountaineering Jacket from the factory at the moment.
Unfortunately I do not have a timetable for this at the moment as the Brand will need to quality check the product before allowing it to be sent to the International Warehouses and then onto the Country and Stores.
I can confirm for you that some stores still have stock of the lightweight jacket (Link Below), depending on size and location, while we wait for the new batch to arrive from factory.
Once again thank you for your enquiry .

I've been using this jacket now for around 8 months. First a bit in the miserable Scottish winter we had, then for instructing work in the Lake district and finally in April and May in the Alps. I have to say that for the price I'm quite impressed. First of all it fits in the right places, hood is perfect over helmet and even without it still hugs around face. Arms are not to long and have good movement, water proofing is comparable with much more expensive jackets on the market. Only 2 down sides are as usual the pockets are made for the street punter not the climber! Why don't the have them next to the central zip where you can access them? Also its not as breathable as they claim, pit zips help along with careful choice of under layers, but still for active use it can be hot and sweaty and needs more managing in UK enviroment, not to bad In alpine enviroment though! All in all I'll get another one when this wears out, though it may be another year yet as it seams durable so far!
very good and worked perfectly despite heavy snow
I love my jacket!
It has kept me dry in the heaviest rain and it has proved its versatility and breathability in very high winds but high temperatures, 2000m up in the Sierra Nevada of southern Spain.
Depending on the badge (brand) you could pay two or three times more for a similar spec,
You know that favourite item of kit that everybody has... ?
.... this is my favourite item of my kit!
Completely waterproof, generous cut for movement.
Really hard to find on the Decathlon website!
Used for winter climbing & walking. Used during dec 2015 storms & UK flooding. Never leaked. Outperformed the other more expensive jackets I have, would buy again
Great fit, very waterproof, good pockets
A really good jacket that also looks cool. The quality is fantastic for its price and it competes really well with jackets twice the cost. Would definitely recommend
Fantastic jacket for the price. Really good fit.
