This is a good shelter, easy to put up and pretty easy to take down after some practice. But if used on the beach, make sure to rinse the zips with clean water before storage. Getting ours out after putting it away for the winter, we found the zip pulls had corroded away to dust, and fell apart as soon as we tried to close them, so can no longer shut the flap door.
I didn't realise this product was a hiking shelter. We wanted a shelter to use on the beech and this product has proved suitable for our application and I would say it is also suitable for hikers.
Very simple to assemble, but it took a few minutes to establish how to pack back into its carry bag. We were concerned that we may damage the shelter when packing, but then realised that the frame is very flexible and after following the instruction and reading a number of times, finally we managed to succeed.
2 seconds to open but more like 20 minutes to pack up. Folding involves pushing super hard which makes me feel I'm about to snap the tent.
This is soooo cool! easy to use, 1st time is a little tricky to put back. So i would say make sure you play about with it at home, before using it....otherwise your in for a surprise :)
Does exactly what is supposed to do.
Simple to collapse ,got a staff member to show me how
No corner pocket to fill with sand 2 an hour down
Great size. Useful to provide shade & cover at sports events as well as beach (you will need to buy pegs suitable for sand as extra). Easy to pop up. Spent 10 min in shop with assistant and learnt how to fold it down again so now I can open & fold it easily.
This was our first pop-up of any sort so everything about it was a surprise. Really does erect itself very quickly once taken out of the bag and released from the retaining strap.
It's light weight and easy to carry using the shoulder strap - my wife found it no trouble to carry several hundreds of meters down the beach to a quiet spot.
It's quite spacious and easily contains all the beach kit two people can carry and keep it in the shade.
It's great fun and quite a talking point with other people.
Toggles that hold the tent into a round shape before packing can come undone just at the wrong moment when packing which can be annoying.
I'm sure it's possible to pack the tent single handed however I haven't managed it yet. And the printed instructions are not very clear. Really worth practicing the packing up procedure a lot at home before travelling to avoid becoming the entertainment on the beach for others! We've watched other people struggle ourselves in the paSt to great amusement.
There are just 3 pegs included (& 3 anchor points) which I suspect wouldn't hold the tent securely on soft dry sand on a windy day. Needs the sand piled up against the back of the tent to secure it. There are no guy ropes included.
The zips that close the front tent flap do not go all the way to the ground (as shown in the picture) so we worried about lying half in the tent that there would be too much strain put on the bottom of the zip.
The packed diameter is 80 cm so it does need a large suitcase to carry it - and it doesn't deform easily once in its carry bag to fit so beware. Not sure how the airlines would treat it if you were carrying it as hand luggage?
In summary a great little product at a reasonable cost (if not exactly cheap) which we're very glad we bought and was much better than our old beach shelter style tent which took ages to put up and down, especially in a blow.
Does pop-up in 2 secs, reasonably light
A liitle large for a case. Packing is tricky.
super quick to erect, good quality and fun to use. Needed to study the videos on YouTube to work out how to put it back in the carry-bag, though.
ease of erection
difficult to learn to put back in the bag
A good buy very reasonable could do with the instructions being a little clearer because it wasn't so easy to put away a little awkwArd
very easy to put up and.it's a good size
not so easy to put away but got it in the end
