    Product feature
    1. Crosscontact sole
We designed the sole based on long research at our laboratories, combined with a specific rubber formulation to offer the best compromise between grip and traction. The Forclaz 500 Helium sole is designed to offer better grip than traction. Definition > Traction: prevents slipping on soft ground (muddy or dry). Grip: not slipping on hard ground (wet or dry).
    2. Purchasing tips
Try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several styles or sizes if necessary. Check two comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Break your shoes in gradually on your first big hike to mould them to your feet.
    3. What shoe size do I choose?
For hiking, do try a size about your usual one to ensure optimum comfort when going downhill and to prevent your toes from touching the top of the shoe. Recommendation: keep your toenails short and before any descent, check that your lacing will prevent your foot from sliding forwards towards the front of the shoe.
    4. Field Test
All our shoes undergo use and comfort tests carried out by users who represent the target market in conditions identical to those found in typical use. • Tear after 1 year not extensive use

      Vachik (United Kingdom)
Used for More than 1 year
The product is overall made of good quality materials, but it teared down. For this price it does not worth it.
    • Quechua Forclaz 500 men's Waterproof Hiking Shoes

      Mike (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Good price, but not waterproof! Although wider than Salmon, I have to stretched them for over a week and they still give me blisters to start with. I do have wide feet, "H" according to Clarks, so no great surprise. Last pair were great for 7 out of 8 months, around 3000 miles, walking mostly on pavements.
    • The best trail shoes ever!

      ANNE TERESA (United Kingdom)
Used for More than 2 years
Actually a great shoe for men and women alike.....These are the best trail shoes that I have ever worn. I hike through grass, mud rocks, hard terrain and soft...they fit like a glove and have so much support and grip, even when running on the trails. If I wade through water in them, or throw them in for a quick wash, they dry easily . I loved them so much, I’m on my second pair...but it took ages for me to need a second pair as they lasted so long despite being worn constantly. Ill be sticking with these for as long as they make them.
    • Very good 10/10

      Marc-andre (China)
Used for More than 2 years
Very comfortable, good grip and nice lacing system ( very useful since I often need to remove my shoes ). I didn't use them for outdoor activities yet but I'm pretty confident they will do the job.
    • Good product

Man san (Hong Kong SAR China)
Used for 7 to 12 months
The design is good and it is very comfortable. The shell is quite solid and protective. On a rainy day, I wear it and feel safe on my walking.

I like its early wear design. However, I cannot find this design again in Decathlon!
