Product feature
  1. How to adjust your walking poles?
Hold the poles with your arms bent at a right angle. To adjust them: Unscrew the middle strand, underneath the ring of the lower strand, locate the size of the desired stick (in centimetres), and screw back firmly but do not overtighten; repeat with the lower section. NEVER GO OVER THE "STOP LINE", or the pole may break during use.
  2. User tips
Before leaving: Always check that your sticks are tight. During descents, or during strong pushes in the mountains, for example, you can adjust the sticks to make them longer. When walking downhill, it's best to remove the strap so the pole won't get in your way if you fall.
  3. Accessories
Summer washer (small diameter) unscrewable, supplied. Compatible with winter washers, wider.
  4. How to adjust poles?
Always check that your poles are properly tightened before departing.

    Response of the brand
    Hello Yatin,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are extremely sorry to hear about your daughter's unpleasant experience during the Trek. I would like to inform you that your safety remains at the core of everything we do at Decathlon. I am attaching a video link to the various tests we conduct to guarantee our users comfort and safety. Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYw_LvxwnU4

Here are my tips on using the right height for the right surface which could be one of the reasons for this incident:When you are at the Flat surface, adjust the height of the pole so that your arms are at 90-degree position holding the pole. From this height, decrease the height 5-10 cm while ascending, and increase 5-10 cm from the flat surface height while you are walking downhill.Trekking poles provide additional support by reduces the impact on your knees, by distributing the weight of your backpack and also providing support from falling down but it is always advised to rely on your foot to test the ground and then use the pole to propel along.

I hope this information helps. However, if you are not comfortable with our poles, please visit any of our stores and our team would be more than happy to help you with an exchange or refund.

I am available at your service for any further queries :)

  • It failed on me multiple time in snow.

This March 2018 I went for the Kuari Pass trek where we had knee deep snow that we need to trek on. So I got a pair of this pole, I also used the snow cap at the head as suggested. But it was very fraustrating that in a 15km/8hr trek at 12500ft, half of it with over knee deep snow the telescopic tension holder just gave up and slipped both ways more than 30 times. One time the lower portion almost came off till the STOP position and I had to manually wrangle it back and all other times the middle or the lowest section just got loose and collasped inside.

I was using both the poles as recommended with both sections at the same extension length, but still it could not stop it from slipping. If it helps I am 5'11" and 70kg carrying a 8kg backpack on that trail.

Now I am not very confident on these poles and may look for new ones soon.
