Product feature
  1. Waterproofness
Waterproofing is a fabric's ability to prevent rain water from passing through. A fabric's waterproofing is determined by measuring its resistance to the pressure exerted by a water column, measured in mm (test based on ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. Material with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm resists the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (which roughly corresponds to a 2-hour rain shower).
  2. Product tests
Our team of product designers is based at the B'Twin Village in Lille (France). All year round, we conceive and develop new products that are easy to use, look great, and have the technical features needed for your cycling experiences. They are then mercilessly put to the test by users in the field, as we are convinced that only by subjecting our products to real world conditions, such as the ones you will experience on your bike, can we continuously improve them.
  3. Sizing information
Fitted cut for excellent ease of movement and minimal wind drag while cycling. This showerproof jacket is sized to allow you to wear it on top of a light and thin garment such as a base layer or cycling jersey.
  4. Breathability
To determine whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance (test based on standard ISO 11092). The lower its resistance, the more the fabric will let water vapour produced by the body escape, and therefore the more breathable it is. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric.
  5. Care tips
Machine wash at 30°C. Synthetic programme. Turn the garment inside out. Use minimal laundry detergent. Do not add softener. Line dry in a warm, ventilated area. Do not tumble dry. Do not dry clean. Do not bleach. Do not place on a heater to dry.
  6. Environmental impact
A product's environmental impact is calculated for its entire life cycle using various indicators. Products are then given an ABCDE rating to help you easily identify products having the best environmental performance (lowest impact) by comparing different products of the same type (T-shirts, bottoms, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon voluntarily chooses to display the environmental ratings of its products. Video with explanations:

  • Very impressive

    Rory (Ireland)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Great, light weight, cycling jacket. Kept me dry in several torrential downpours that soaked every other part of me. Great fit, well made and breathable.
Waterproof, breathable, looks good, great value
  • Excellent value for money

    ryan (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
Totally waterproof, used on a few varied raining rides and always keep me dry, breathability is pretty good considering it's a waterproof, done a steady 50 miler in this and didn't feel overheated , also done hard paced ride with bad rain and done the job nicely, magnets on zip closure are a good touch to stop it flapping when you undo the zip, rear pocket could of been a little bigger but you can get a phone, gel, bar in it
  • Good Fabric, Bad Fit

    Peter (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
This jacket performs very well in terms of repelling rain, particularly in cold/ very cold conditions. (In milder weather it gets sweaty).
Whenever I've worn it though, I spent most of my ride repeatedly reaching back to try to pull the tail down. The Tail is elasticated, so although the length should be adequate, it constantly bunches up, exposing the small of my back.
Additionally, for me it manages to be too loose at the chest but too tight across the shoulders. Very irritating to wear.
    Waterproof, magnetic closure works well
Rides up continuously at the back.
  • The 700 waterproof

    THOMAS (United Kingdom)

It was excellent but I found the medium a little too short in arms. I will be buying the large!
    Excellent product. No uneccesary detailing.
Arms just a wee bit short.
