Product feature
  1. Footwear waterproofing test.
The footwear is laboratory and field tested to ensure optimal waterproofing and breathability. First, the shoe is immersed in water while internal air pressure is applied to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the footwear. Next, shoes are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
  2. 3 levels of waterproofing.
During the waterproofing tests, we test 3 levels of waterproofing, with 2000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 4 km walk), 4000 flexes (approx. equivalent to an 8 km walk) and 8000 flexes (approx. equivalent to a 16 km walk). Of course, after this test or in use, the shoe regains its original waterproofing once dry.
  3. Shoe waterproofing level.
The Warm boots 100 high are waterproof up to 2 000 flexes
  4. SNOWCONTACT technology.
SNOWCONTACT soles are made using a special component. Designs are optimised to provide excellent all-terrain grip and maximal traction all winter long. What's more, the SNOWCONTACT soles are more effective than conventional soles on snow.
  5. Field tests.
All our shoes are tested for wearing comfort and comfort in use by users who are representative of the target market, under the same conditions as those that will be experienced in real-life use. In particular, our Mission Tests bring the product manager together with people who are not affiliated with QUECHUA to test, improve and approve the products.
  6. Measurement of the boots' thermal insulation.
It was not previously possible to give a precise idea of the temperature at which your shoes would still insulate your feet from the cold. Now it can be done: the temperature limits for use are shown on your Quechua shoes. By testing how cold people feel in the field and in the lab with a panel of customers, we measure the thermal insulation of our footwear while active and at rest. We take into consideration the differences between men and women.
  7. Lab tests.
Laboratory tests were conducted to test the following elements: attachment of eyelets and straps, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of the sole and upper component, accelerated ageing.

  • Excellent boots!

Delivery was excellent, ordered at 3pm, arrived at local asda 2pm the following day!!
    The boots!
    Fantastic price!!
Excellent fit and true to size (8)
    Very comfortable with no rubbing.
Quality is brilliant too, I expected a bit of shoddyness (??) at this price and there is none!
The waterproofing hasn't been tested yet, but I did spill a glass of water over them and just beaded off, so fingers crossed on that one!
    They also look great too.
I would definitely recommend the boots and Decathlon, and I will certainly be buying more.
  • Good value

Bought these boots for everyday use in winter and wet weather. I like that they are plain black (I swapped the laces for plain ones), made with non-animal materials and waterproof. They are a little wide for my feet so I've had to add an insole and there is a rather uncomfortable seam on the inside of the heel, but I've stuck in some padding so now they are really comfortable.
  • Snow boot rather than a hiking boot.

As a hiking boot they do not provide as much ankle support as other style of boot. However, I did not purchase these for hiking. I purchased these as I was working in the Alps on a winter season.
I have no complaints with these whilst on the season. The boots coped with whatever weather the season brought, though, I would say snowfall throughout the season was not especially high so they were not tested as rigorously as they could have done. That aside they did not let me down.

  • New boots!!

So I had some other Quechua boots that were amazing but eventually they wore out and were no longer available, the new style were too narrow for me. Anyway, I wanted warm boots that were not heavy and had a lot of flexibility.

These are lightweight, warm and flexible, I actually got a half size larger (as I normally do) but didn't need to. Am thinking about getting my normal size now as these are great. They are nice and wide so I don't have squashed feet and are a good size, very high fitting so good ankle support and as I sprayed them liberally with waterproofing spray, don't let in too much water when I end up being walked through a puddle when trekking with the dogs. There is no chaffing around the ankle or the back of the foot either. They stay quite clean and there is a good tread so I can't wait to try them out in snow. I have tried my yaktrak things on them and they fit well.
