For improved balance, we strongly advise using a pair of poles. Especially if you plan to walk on uneven ground, some of which may be slightly more pronounced, or in powdery snow where you may sink in a bit more. On snowy terrain, be sure to have large baskets to prevent them from sinking into the snow.
