  6. Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed in terms of the height of a water column in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means that the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by a 2000 mm column of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
  7. A score for comparing the products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall rating from A to E is provided to help you easily identify the more eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers and backpacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. 8. Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed as a water column of mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. Components with a 2000 mm waterproof rating can withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (approximately equivalent to a shower lasting one hour).
  9. Waterproofing of the garment
Technologies®: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
  10. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
  11. Water repellent component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment
  12. A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated based on its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is applied to help you readily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental information. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
