  • Perfect comfort!

I used this for two nights in the week camping in a hike tent. As a side sleeper, I roll over a lot and so often find that smaller camp pillows are not enough. However, I used this with one of the inflatable inserts and it stayed put providing me with no neck pain whatsoever!

I am really fussy when it comes to pillows, I camp and glamp. When camping on a bike or canoe trip pillows are a nightmare, I have used empty pillow cases as stuff sack etc etc, and have never really been comfortable, till now! Putting an inflatable pillow in the back and not blown up to hard gives me a great night sleep. Will go as far to say when I Glamp next time, its coming with me, no dragging my large pillows from home. The set up will cost £10, but best £10 I've ever spent
  • really comfy pillow

  • Mostly solves the pillow problem

Anyone who has been backpacking and is used to having a couple of pillows at home and/or sleeps on their side will know about the pillow problem. You obviously can't take pillows from home as they will fill your rucksack and weigh you down. Ultra compressible pillows just compress when you lie on them and so are useless. Inflatable pillows have the wrong kind of spring in them, are not soft or high enough for a side-sleeper and a stack of two won't stay put.

This system pretty much solves that. It's essentially a compressible hollowfill pillow in a soft polycotten case with a pocket under the padding for stuffing things into. You could use spare clothes, jackets etc if you're going ultra-light or Decathlon's own inflatable pillow isn't exactly heavy and fits exactly. This means you can more than double the thickness of the pillow whilst always having a soft and comfy side for your face.

It weighs about 200grams and expands to about the size of a household cushion so it's not as big as a proper pillow but I guess that's not going to be possible at any kind of sensible weight or size.

Overall a great bit of kit for the less hard-core of us who want to be comfortable when backpacking.
    LIght, adjustable, soft

Really love the design - allows you to dictate your own pillow thickness due to whatever you can fit into the sleeve. It would be really useful if the pillow came supplied with a waterproof bag as I used this on my ML expedition and even though it was packed into my "waterproof" rucksack, this unfortunatly let in some water (due to the torrential snowdonian downpours) meaning it got slightly wet - a waterproof bag would've been amazing!
It packs away really small and works a treat!
Better if supplied with a waterproof bag
