Product feature
  1. Backpack technical tests
Backpack components are approved in laboratory tests, including: fabric, buckles, straps, foam and zips. For example, for fabric: resistance to wear, tearing, colour-fastness under UVs, washing, waterproofing, etc. A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly: with ballasts, they are placed on a mannequin and the movements which accompany quick walking over thousands of cycles are reproduced.
  2. 10-year guarantee
The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year guarantee will only be granted upon presentation of the product and sales receipt. If the product is covered by the warranted, it will be repaired or exchanged for free. This commercial warranty does not exclude applicable legal warranties dependent on the country and/or State.
  3. Use tests
Quechua has conducted tests to simulate the ageing of its backpacks. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. Their results enable Quechua and Decathlon to guarantee the tested bags for a period of 10 years from the date of purchase shown on the sales receipt.
  4. Environmental measures
Quechua has decided to inform you on the environmental impact of their hiking backpack products across their entire lifecycle. This work resulted from an experiment completed in July 2011 alongside the French Ministry of the Environment. Scores ranging from A to E were awarded based on comparisons between Quechua's backpacks only. Details on this project and the calculation methods used are available at http://www.oxylane.com/20/demarche-environnementale

  • 7 years and still going strong!

Used for More than 2 years
I bought this as my first adventure racing pack, to race in an Endurance Life event. Good for events up to maybe 24hrs in terms of capacity, also day hikes/scrambling/mtb.

Light, hip pockets, bungee cords for stashing clothing, easy pole attachments, whistle. I've been very pleased with it, and haven't had to repair it over the years of bashing through the bush.

Recommendations for improvement? Bigger hip pockets extending towards the front (please!), small pockets on the shoulder straps. Maybe bottle pockets on the hips, too.

Looking to buy more for my sons as they get into the sport.
  • Cycling pack

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I needed a large lightweight pack for commuting to work. The pack is comfortable, has enough room for my kit and comes with a hydration bladder. It has a nice low profile and hugs my back well when cycling and doesn't sway from side to side. Nice looking pack and very pleased with the quality of this product. I may reconfigure the shock cord on the outside of the pack so i can.secure items to the outside of the pack more securely. Great pack.
  • Could be better

To improve - remove the side elastic cords and replace with elasticated web pockets suitable for water bottle/ small flask. Remove the hydration bladder. Would not recommend in current configuration - good that it has a decent hip belt.
  • Excellent day pack

  • Value backpack, but not basic!

Great pack at a great price. Holds just some extras on a winter day on the hill [snow excepted as no ice axe loops]. Close fit which keeps pack firm on the back and ideal for a number of activities [biking, running and hill walk/scramble]. Water reservoir good size and easy to fill and clean. Not too sure about the elastication on the outer pocket - how long will it last. The shock corded side compression is excellent however. For the money, if I get about 10 years out of this I will be well pleased.
Snug fit. Enough space for a winter hill day.
Some elastication on the outside extension pocket
