Product feature
  1. What makes a jacket waterproof?
The resistance of a fabric to water seepage. This is measured using an approved water pressure test. Bearing in mind that the average pressure of rain water varies between 2000 mm and 1000 mm, a fabric is considered to be waterproof from 2000 mm. Our products resist pressure from 2000 to 10,000 mm. They are therefore very waterproof and suited to even the most extreme weather conditions.
  2. What do you mean by sealed seams or waterproof strips?
Its seams are sealed (or taped) using heat-sealed, waterproof strips. They are placed behind the seams and are essential for waterproofing clothing so that water cannot enter through capillarity (water being absorbed by the threads and holes of the fabric).
  3. Flexibility:
3-in-1 jacket with removable padded lining. This will help you cope with every situation depending on the weather conditions: rainy or cold. Please note: the inner padded jacket must be turned inside out when worn by itself.
  4. Component breathability:
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we measure its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET<9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
  5. Water repellent component:
A fabric's water-repellency is its ability to let water slide over its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. A fabric becomes water repellent by applying a treatment to its outer surface. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (with every 2 or 3 washes). All the Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water-repellent treatment
  6. Windproofing:
Coating applied to the fabric makes it waterproof and windproof. A waterproof fabric has the technical characteristics needed to be windproof certified. Protect yourself from the wind, when moving or stationary, is vital because of the wind's powerful chilling effect.
  7. Technical details:
Adjustable ergonomic hood for optimal protection. Adjustable cuffs, adjustable hem (using toggles), central zip opening and two hand pockets.
  8. Ventilation:
Underarm ventilation wicks away perspiration even more quickly.
