  4. The component's waterproof properties
We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting one hour).
  5. Garment waterproof properties
This jacket has passed a shower test under 100 litres of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the same conditions as a heavy storm. For further information, go to the Solognac website.
  6. Component breathability
The breathability of a fabric is measured in RET (Resistance to Evaporative Heat Transfer). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by an active body escapes through the fabric, and the higher the fabric's breathability. The complex RET is the measurement performed on a finished product. complex RET of the Inverness 500 W/P jacket = 12 m/².Pa/W, i.e. very breathable.
  7. Garment breathability
In addition to the breathability of the fabrics used, Solognac develops technical solutions (zips, air vents, mesh, etc.) that improve the overall ventilation of all its jackets.
  8. Water repellent fabric
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off the surface of the fabric, without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. Water repellency is achieved through a treatment applied to the fabric's exterior. This treatment needs reapplying throughout the lifespan of the garment (we recommend it with every wash). Water-repellent treatment products are available in our stores. Solognac waterproof jackets are water repellent treated.
  9. A rating for comparing products environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall score (ABCDE) is attributed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with one another (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon chose to apply this voluntary environmental labelling scheme. For more info: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
