Product feature
  1. What is softshell?
A warm, protective jacket that protects you from the wind and short light rain or snow showers (approx. 30 mins). The fabric used is a combination of 3 materials: a breathable and windproof microporous membrane sandwiched between the water-repellent outer layer and the inner one made from warm, comfortable fleece.
  2. Thermal comfort and windproof
The wind causes the perceived temperature to decrease considerably. With an outside temperature of 0°C and 20 km/h winds, it will feel like the temperature is -10°. "Windproof" components fight the uncomfortable effects associated with this "freezing effect". Very effective at reducing heat loss by creating a barrier against the wind.
  3. Breathability
In areas that are sensitive to wind (front and sleeves) the fabric has a windproof membrane; breathability is therefore lower. Performance is 2,839 g/m2/24 hrs (according to standard JIS 1099 A). To improve breathability on the back and sides, the fabric does not have a membrane. Performance is 3,219 g/m2/24 hrs (according to standard JIS 1099 A).
  4. Water-repellent property of component (not to be confused with waterproofing)
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use. In order to reactivate it, follow the guide: https://www.quechua.fr/conseils/comment-reactiver-la-deperlance-de-sa-veste-a_86425
  5. Recommended additional product
Wash-in product that restores the water-repellent properties https://www.decathlon.co.uk/eco-wash-in-proof-250-ml-id_8408883.html It restores the water-repellent properties of the fabric and optimises the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime.
  6. Tightening at jacket hem
    Elastic drawcords and toggles.
  7. Pocket system
2 hand pockets with zip fastening.
  8. A score for comparing the products' environmental impact
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you easily identify products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type (t-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating initiative. For further information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
