  6. Component waterproofing
A fabric's resistance to water pressure is measured by the height of a column of water that can be supported by the fabric in mm (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means that the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm column of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
  7. Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed as a water column of mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm can therefore withstand the pressure of a 2000 mm column of water (which is approximately equivalent to a one-hour rain shower).
  8. Waterproofing
Technologies®: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 100 litres of water/sqm/hour for 4 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains. Please visit Novadry.com for more information.
  9. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
  10. Breathability
In addition to breathable fabrics, Quechua develops technical solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh etc.) to improve the overall ventilation of its trekking jackets and overtrousers.
  11. Water repellency
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment
  12. A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated based on its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/

As description. Would be nice if the good had a popper, Velcro or pocket to tuck away when not in use but good is not that intrusive to be such a problem. More an aesthetic ideal
  • Great waterproof jacket

Used for 2 to 8 weeks
I bought this one for my daughter for a geography trip to North Yorkshire and the weather was true to form however she was lovely and dry and warm. Great overall performance but I knew that as I already own one and have been wearing it for 6 months already.

I would happily buy again but hopefully will not need to.

Wasn't sure about this as warm jackets make you sweat, which this does, but with the zips under the arm it breathes too. Used in the Peak on a freezing day, superb!!
