I-reflect technology: the I-reflect aluminium film only weighs a few grams but reflects 65% of the infra-red radiation emitted by the body. It improves the garment's insulation by an average of 15%, significantly reducing heat loss.
  8. Component waterproofing
The resistance of a fabric is measured using water pressure expressed in water column mm (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2,000mm is therefore resistant to the pressure exerted by a 2,000 mm column of water (roughly equivalent to a 2-hour downpour).
  9. A score for comparing the products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using various indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, rucksacks, etc.) Decathlon is committed to displaying the environmental information of its products. 10. Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to water pressure, expressed as a water column of mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm meaning the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (the equivalent of a two hour downpour).
  11. Waterproofing
Technologies®: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 60 litres of water/sqm/hour for 2 hours. This test reproduces the average conditions of a rain shower in the mountains.
  12. Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
  13. Water repellency
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water to slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment
  14. A score for comparing products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impact is calculated based on its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall ABCDE score is given to help you identify products with the best environmental performance more readily by comparing the same type of product (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.). Decathlon is committed to visually displaying environmental impact. For more information visit: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
