Product feature
  1. How can I be sure my jacket will give me proper protection in bad weather?
The 150 jacket was rigorously developed and assembled to prevent water from entering and to feel the wind less, to help you cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc). To check that it is waterproof, this jacket was placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofing by skiing in different weather conditions for several days.
  2. What is the point of the water-repellent feature of my jacket?
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to allow water to run off its surface without seeping in. The 150 jacket is made from water-repellent materials that prolong its resistance to bad weather. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. In order to remain effective, this treatment must be regularly restored using products that are available in our stores.
  3. "Coated" jacket: what are the advantages of this coating?
The coating is a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of a fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by the body's physical activity to escape. So you stay dry for greater comfort while practising your sport.
  4. Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we have enhanced the waterproof rating of the 150 jacket with taped seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These taped seams are located on the areas most exposed to snow, i.e. generally the shoulders and chest.
  5. How will my ski jacket keep me warm?
We use wadding for insulation to help keep you warm. This polyester-based synthetic material traps air, the quantity of which will depend on the size of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, high-tech or siliconised, each with different properties: warmth, light weight, elasticity, etc. All the wadding materials that we use are made with recycled materials – usually plastic bottles.
  6. What is a "breathable" jacket?
It is a product that lets the water vapour produced by the body during exercise escape, keeping you dry. To see if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) in a standardised ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wed'ze uses high-tech materials and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that help prevent condensation inside the garment. RET of the component of the 150 jacket < 12
  7. How should I dress to avoid feeling cold on the slopes?
To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: 1 ski undergarment and 1 under-jacket to retain the heat, 1 ski jacket to protect you from bad weather.
  8. Where can I put my ski pass when taking ski lifts?
You no longer need to get out your ski pass! Your sleeve has a ski pass pocket, allowing you to access the lifts quickly.
  9. A score to compare the environmental footprint of products
The product's environmental impact is calculated over its entire life cycle using different indicators. An overall score from A to E is given to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc). Decathlon actively promotes this environmental rating system. For more information: http://sustainability.decathlon.com/
  10. Durability
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.
  11. Lift pass pocket
You no longer need to get your lift pass out because your sleeve has a lift pass pocket for quick access to cable cars.
