Product feature
  1. Easy Fit
The Easy Fit system allows you to adjust your ski helmet to your body shape, thanks to a dial at the back of the helmet retained by elastics. This retention system can be adjusted precisely and remembers the position of the helmet on your head.
  2. Full Earpad
The Full Earpad is a system of ear padding which stays more firmly in place, is warmer and, hence, more comfortable in use. The 2 ear pads are made of a single piece of material forming a neck contour.
  3. Air Cooling
Air Cooling is a system that directs the air in order to eliminate the heat and moisture from your ski helmet. This helmet has 12 air vents for keeping you comfortable at all times.
  4. Hard Shell Construction
The Hard Shell Construction gives more durability and robustness to your helmet. This type of structure incorporates an outer shell, made of ABS, injection moulded to withstand powerful impacts. It combines durability with a significant capacity to withstand bumps and blows. The internal EPOS skullcap absorbs impact and collision at the time of impact. We recommend changing your ski helmet at least every 5 years if it hasn’t suffered a significant shock in the meantime.
  5. Compatibility with prescription glasses
Everyone, including those who wear glasses, should be able to enjoy skiing. Wed'ze therefore offers a helmet with a visor that is more practical to use than OTG ("over the glasses") ski goggles. However, some models of glasses are incompatible on account of their size. We recommend visiting your local Decathlon store to try the helmet on with your glasses.
  6. Cold barrier
The Cold Barrier provides a genuine thermal barrier protecting you from the cold when the liner hat's hem is folded down over your forehead.
  7. Removable textile
The removable inner part can be washed. The inner cap of this ski helmet is detachable and machine washable at 30°C.
  8. S2 Visor Lens
The visor offers 100% protection from ultraviolet rays. The tint of the visor, which allows between 22% and 40% of the light to pass through, is suitable for all types of weather conditions. The polycarbonate material is very resistant to impacts. However, it is not very resistant to scratching: We therefore recommend protecting your visor by placing it in its bag after each use.
  9. Standard EN 1077
The EN 1077 standard is a European standard that applies to helmets used for protecting the head during alpine skiing or snowboarding. A feature of this standard are the tests undertaken to check the shock absorption properties and the resistance to penetration.
  10. After-sales service
Some STREAM 550 S2 helmet parts are available as part of our after-sales service from our in-store workshops. The following are available: the original S2 type visor and the visor attachment kit (screws and spacers).
  11. EN 1077 STANDARD
The EN 1077 standard is a European standard that applies to helmets used for skull protection when downhill skiing or snowboarding. This standard is based on the shock-absorbing capacity and penetration resistance, and is divided into 2 categories: A: Stiff ear helmet / B: Soft ear helmet.

  • Great helmet when worn in correct conditions

    Kieran (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
Brought this helmet based upon looks not the reviews. Having read the reviews after the purchase I believed I had made an error and went and brought another helmet with separate goggles to take on holiday with me.
The marketing of this product could be better as it does not specify on the website what conditions this helmet is suitable to be used in, however on the packaging it clearly states sunny or overcast conditions, therefore I assumed as per the reviews it would not be suitable in the snow or rain.
When used I found this helmet to be of an excellent quality and it was used in both sunny and overcast conditions with no issues noted.
    Would definitely recommend.
  • Replacement/ Bad weather Visor

    Ian (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement visor and a Bad weather visor for the 550 stream 2 helmet? Everywhere seems to be out of stock.
  • Love the helmet but not when snowing.

    Nicola (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
My sister and I have loved wearing our helmets. We had constant problems wearing regular OTG goggles and reckoned we had finally found our be all and end all helmets. The one failing is letting in snow at the top. It is impossible to ski with snow filling up the visor. It’s also too difficult clearing it out. If only there was a clip at the back to put regular goggles on. I noticed a previous review where duct tape was used to attach regular goggles for same problem. Wish I had duct tape with me! So I would recommend for all round visibility in good weather or flat light but not when snowing.
  • Wed’ze Stream 550 ski helmet XL.

    Malcolm (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
The helmet was excellent all week in mixed conditions. Out off our group three had purchased the same product and all shared the same opinion and the end of the week.
I had bought one online the week prior for twice the amount of money but when it arrived it was a very uncomfortable fit and didn't come down over my spectacles. Sent it back and popped to my local Decathlon store in Poole. Thank goodness I did.
I did try to get the bad weather visor on line as instructed and hopefully the in stock at the end of January reply will be correct.
  • Comfortable but defective

    Liz (United Kingdom)
Used for 1 week or less
I bought two of these helmets as they were so comfortable in the shop. The visor certainly provided better all round visibility however when wearing in snowy conditions we both found that there was a gap at the top of the visor which let water run don between it and the helmet then promptly froze on the inside which was impossible to clear. This made visibility zero which in the poor conditions was very frightening. I would go as far as to say the helmet is not fit for purpose!

We met a French family whilst skiing who's son had found the same problem and had removed the visor and was using goggles instead held on with "duck tape".
Disappointed in the lack of response from Decathlon in spite of several emails to Customer Services and being promised that the National Sports Manager fro Ski would be in contact.
Really disappointed as we are loyal and regular customers of Decathlon...shame
    Response of the brand
    Dear Mrs. Morgan,

Thank you for getting in touch, and my apologies for the inconvenience caused by the helmets you purchased. This is the first instance I've heard of such a problem on this helmet. The gap should be filled out with a small layer of foam normally.

Would you be so kind as to get in touch with our customer loyalty team to get the helmets shipped to me? It'd be helpful to see if there was a defect on the helmets. They'll be able to assist you in this process.

    Thank you,

Tea DJUMISIC National Sports Manager, DECATHLON
