Product feature
  1. SIZE MATTERS
Length 3.90 m: carp rods between 11 and 13 Feet long are more suited to carp fishing from the bank. Rods of this length tend to be more powerful for reaching long range swims. The dismantled length of the rod is 2,03 m. No. of sections: 2 WEIGHT: 450 g
  2. A TOP TIP ACTION ROD
Known as "fast action". The tip action of the Extrem-9 SLIM allows it to bend through the last third of its length to the tip. The rod's action is reduced, making the main body of these rods quite stiff. This means that the rod's action is reduced, ie it bends less when tension is applied by fish. The advantage is that the stiffness enables long distance casting
  3. RING SIZE
SEAGUIDE rings butt 50 mm, 30 mm, 20 mm, 16 mm, 12 mm and 12 mm tip. The distinguishing features of SEAGUIDE rings are that they are lightweight and highly resistant to braid. You can use braid on your reels with no fear of damaging your rings. This is a prime criterion of choice if you use braid regularly. RING ATTACHMENT: The rod rings are supported by 3 legs. These 3-leg guides are stronger for greater resistance to heavy duty casting.
  4. PLENTY OF POWER
The test curve of your rod is a gauge of two different but complementary characteristics: - The ability to resist a tensile force such as when playing a fish. -The rod's ability to cast a weight over a certain distance. The 3.5 lbs test curve will enable you to cast up to 130 g beyond 140m and master fish of all sizes with ease.
  5. THE LITTLE EXTRA DETAILS
    1. INNOVATION: Better visibility at night. The MOON CONCEPT tip lights up when hit by UV light (MOON CONCEPT head lamp recommended) See explanatory video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OguuKteN11s 2. REEL SEAT: The metal reel seat is adjustable. This allows you to properly balance your outfit to optimize your casting Further information on: https://www.caperlan.fr/content/comment-regler-son-porte-moulinet
  6. PRESS-FIT TYPE
Inverted press-fit: the lower (bigger) section has a slimmer cylindrical piece added to the upper end. This spigot press-fits into the end of the upper section. The spigot joint improves the through action of the rod.
  7. MAINTENANCE
Everyday maintenance is simple: just clean your rods with warm soapy water, and then rinse and dry them carefully, paying special attention to the joints. This step is very important to make sure you remove any sand which can damage your rods
  8. CHOOSING THE RIGHT ROD FOR YOUR HEIGHT
It is often said that the longer the carp rod, the further you can cast. But it is mainly your size (and your centre of gravity) which determines how far you cast. For example, if you are less than 1.70m tall, you will find a 13 foot rod less comfortable than a 12 foot rod. It will shift your centre of gravity towards that upper part of you body. Which means it will take more effort to use and cast
  9. YOUR ROD BLANK
The term "blank" refers to the main part of a fishing rod, which is often made of carbon or fibreglass. For some of our rods we use the term HM carbon (High Modulus). Put simply, the modulus (expressed in tonnes) is the weight to stiffness ratio of the carbon. The higher the modulus, the lighter the blank and the more resistant it is to constraints such as the force exerted by a fish during the fight.
  10. GETTING THE BALANCE RIGHT FOR LONG RANGE CASTING (Part 1)
To be able to cast a long way you need to consider two aspects: equipment and technique. As far as equipment is concerned, the winning combination is: 1. A rod with a test curve of 3.25 to 3.75 lbs 2.. Reel: it is essential to choose a reel with a long distance spool which releases the line more easily, thus gaining those extra metres. The Adonis 7000, available in your fishing section, is the ideal candidate.
  11. GETTING THE BALANCE RIGHT FOR LONG RANGE CASTING (Part 2)
    3. The choice between monofilament or braid is entirely a question of personal preference. Whichever you choose, you will need a small diameter such as 28/100 for maximum casting distance. 4. Where it is allowed, you should have a 3 m leader of 30/100 braid. As braid has no stretch, all the energy of the cast will be transmitted via the rod, not taken up by the line.
  12. CAUTION!
Before casting, check that the joints are properly assembled. A badly inserted spigot is the main cause of rod breakage. Casting with the last few metres of your line dry increases the risk of breakage. To prevent this happening you should wet your main line before casting.
  13. DAMAGE AND BREAKAGE INSURANCE
THIS IS FOR YOU, WHATEVER YOUR FISHING TECHNIQUE! Insurance against fishing equipment damage has been designed specifically for your DECATHLON fishing gear. DECATHLON Sports Insurance provides new replacement cover for accidentally damaged equipment covered by the insurance. - purchase value (inc. VAT) on the sales receipt - no excess Caperlan and other brands You can take out our insurance HERE http://www.assurances.decathlon.fr/fr/assurance-peche/4-dommage

Product testing
  1. Composition
Structure : 100.0% Carbon fibre (CF)
  2. Storage advice
Ensure that your rod is dry before storing. To extend the life of your rods, remember to remove the lead before you stow the rod in its cover
  3. Product restrictions
Do not use near power lines or during thunderstorms.
  4. Product catchline
This slim lightweight rod with a medium action can be used for precise long-distance casts of any rig. The carbon blank effectively transmits every movement while you are fishing.
  5. Lab tested
The strength of the rod has been tested using rigs 50% heavier than the rated load. However, for optimal performance, it is essential to use rigs suited to the rod's casting weight.
