Inverness 500 trousers for protecting the lower body as well, thus providing complete and effective protection from the rain and vegetation.
    4. The component's waterproof properties
We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood by the fabric, the more waterproof it is. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (which is equivalent to a rain shower lasting one hour).
    5. Garment waterproof properties
This jacket has passed a shower test under 100 litres of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the same conditions as a heavy storm. For further information, go to the solognac.com website.
    6. Component breathability
The breathability of a fabric is measured in RET (Resistance to Evaporative Heat Transfer). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by an active body escapes through the fabric, and the higher the fabric's breathability. The complex RET is the measurement conducted on a finished product. complex RET of the Inverness 500 W/P jacket = 12 m/².Pa/W, i.e. very breathable.
    7. Garment breathability
In addition to the breathability of the fabrics used, Solognac develops technical solutions (zips, air vents, mesh.etc.) that improve the overall ventilation of all its jackets.
    8. Water-repellent properties of the component
A fabric is water-repellent when water slides off the surface of the fabric, without seeping in. As a result, the fabric does not soak up water and remains light, breathable and warm.A fabric is made water-repellent by treating the outer side of the fabric. We recommend that this treatment, which must be repeated during the life of the garment, be done after each wash.Products made for this purpose are available in our stores. Solognac waterproof jackets have a water-repellent treatment.
    9. A score to compare products' environmental impact
The product's environmental impacts are calculated over its whole lifecycle and with different indicators. An ABCDE score is provided to enable easy identification of the most environmentally-friendly products when comparing products of the same type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). Decathlon is a voluntary supporter of this environmentally-friendly labelling approach. Explanatory video: https://youtu.be/8t63KkRwn_8 sustainability.decathlon.com
