TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How will these trousers keep your child warm?

We added warm and soft fleece tights to the trousers.

The synthetic fibres of the fleece are as effective as wool (warmth, thermal insulation) while being more lightweight. It is soft, comfortable, dries quickly and lets the skin breathe. The fleece component traps air in the volume created by its texture in order to keep the body warm with its naturally insulating power. It is the brushing of the knit fabric that traps the air.

What does “comfort temperature” mean?

We carry out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory in walking conditions in light winds (5 km/h).

The comfort temperature is the calculated air temperature where 70% of users have a "slightly warm" thermal sensation.

For these trousers, it is -1.5°C.

However every individual feels the cold differently.

Should you get your child to wear tights under their trousers?

Since they are already equipped with fleece tights, there is no need to add tights, which may make your child too hot, make them sweat and then get cold.

Do the trousers have gaiters to prevent snow from getting in at the ankles?

We chose a solution that is practical, intuitive and comfortable: the inner tights have cuffed hems (like those found on the cuffs of winter jackets) to keep them in place.

By positioning the elastic under your child's shoe or boot, their trousers will not ride up, so that the snow cannot get inside.

How do my trousers protect me from outdoor conditions?

Your trousers are designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind (before washing: 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) for the main component. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet).

How can I be sure that my trousers are 100% waterproof?

We designed your trousers with a coating on the outer fabric to make it waterproof. The waterproofing of a fabric is measured in Schmerbers or H²O mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.

This jacket has a waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) before washing.

What does "100% taped seams” mean?

For the comfort of your little ones and your peace of mind, the seams of these trousers are waterproof. They are totally waterproof. We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower.

The seams of a garment are watertight thanks to waterproof and heat-sealed strips. These are placed behind the seams to make the garment waterproof by stopping water from getting inside by capillary action.

Windproof

In winter, it is important to be protected from both moisture (snow, rain) and wind, because the latter can significantly cool the body, regardless of whether you are physically active or standing still.

Thanks to their waterproof coating, these trousers have the technical characteristics to be certified windproof.

Will these trousers withstand the intensity of your child's activities?

Thanks to these reinforced fabric inserts on the knees and seat of these trousers, children can go and explore the world freely. We conduct abrasion and friction resistance tests on the various components to ensure their effectiveness.

The abrasion resistance of a fabric is measured by a test called the Martindale test. This machine rubs a sample of the fabric on a reference surface with a weight at the end.

How do I choose the right kids’ clothing for snow hiking?

To be properly dressed in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:

layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.

layer 2: Fleece provides warmth and wicks away moisture.

layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.

The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.

Children quickly make their stuff dirty; can you wash these trousers regularly without damaging them?

These trousers were designed to keep kids nice and warm and give parents peace of mind. We carry out tests to check that there is no colour bleeding and that repeated washing does not affect the properties of the fabric, its behaviour, its thickness or its appearance. So you can wash your trousers with peace of mind and let your adventurer play freely during your hikes in the snow.

What should you do to look after these trousers properly while maintaining their technical characteristics?

To regenerate the water-repellent properties of the fabric and optimise the performance of your garment throughout its lifetime, use a waterproofing spray or liquid at each machine wash.
