TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

DESIGN

Down jacket (90% down and 10% feathers) for comfort and lightweight.

We have added heat zones where you need them the most.

Stretch areas on the back, sides and under the arms for freedom of movement.

The stretch fabric is very breathable and also wicks away perspiration.

A hood that fits under the helmet and high collar to protect you from bad weather.

Directions for use

During times of intense physical exertion, dressing too warmly can actually make you feel cold. The perspiration is unable to escape and therefore remains in constant contact with your skin. It’s beneficial to wear a liner jacket as you can take it off when the weather is mild. It's also important to open the vents before you get too hot and close them before you get cold when the intensity of your physical effort decreases, as it does on the ski lifts.

What should you wear under your skiing jacket?

To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule:

a ski base layer and a second layer liner jacket to retain warmth, a third layer ski jacket to protect you from bad weather.

The base layer keeps you dry by wicking away the perspiration from the skin to the other layers.

The second layer provides warmth. Such as down jackets, or fleece sweaters.

The third layer

This layer provides protection from the outdoor elements (snow, rain and wind) by keeping them out (while still letting perspiration escape from inside so you don’t feel wet). It should therefore ideally be waterproof AND breathable. The third layer (or layer 3) can also provide insulation in the case of lined trousers or jackets and complement the second layer.

Fill power of the down/feather filling

For this down jacket filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, the “filling power" is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity through its ability to "trap" a certain amount of air. So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and therefore provide greater thermal insulation.

How to wash your feather down jacket?

Here are a few tips: close all the zips on your down jacket and put it in the washing machine, synthetic cycle at 30°C.

To maintain the filling and warmth, add 2 tennis balls in the machine.

Be sure to select a gentle spin cycle: a fast spin cycle may create balls of feathers that are difficult to break up.

How to dry my down jacket?

When you take your down jacket out of the washing machine, it will seem as if the down has gone. THE TUMBLE DRYER is the best way to restore the fill power of the feathers. Put your down jacket in the tumble dryer with 2 tennis balls for 2-3 drying cycles.

If you don’t have a tumble dryer, you can always dry your down jacket on a clothes horse and keep tapping it and turning it regularly.
