Does the weight of the sweatshirt affect its warmth?
The grammage indicates the weight of the fabric. This has the biggest impact on how the fabric falls and feels. The heavier it is, the straighter the fabric falls, but a higher grammage doesn't necessarily guarantee a warmer sweater.
Knits that are said to be brushed, which give a fleece effect on the inside, have the ability to trap air and therefore provide more warmth (even if the weight is not heavier - subtle but good to know!).
