THE STORY OF THE AM 100S MTB
Entirely designed and developed in France at the B'Twin Village (Lille), this MTB is the fruit of the work of a team of experts and passionate all mountain bikers. The Rockrider team designed and tested this Rockrider 100 S All-Mountain bike together with their MTB testers. To better satisfy your needs, the Rockrider AM 100 S is assembled at our own factory in Lille, just steps away from the bike design team. For more information: http://virtual-tour-btwin-village.btwin.com/
SWITCH AND RIDE: ONE BIKE, MANY RIDES
The SWITCH & RIDE system is easy: a single mountain bike frame, compatible with three wheel sizes. 1 / Choose your Switch & Ride compatible MTB in size 27.5", 27.5" PLUS, or 29". 2 / Add a second or third pair of wheels of another size. 3 / Enjoy riding your bike on any terrain!
A unisex mountain bike
Men's or women's MTB? This Rockrider AM 100 MTB is unisex. For even greater comfort, the women on our MTB team recommend the women's 500 Sport saddle, specially designed for women's bodies.
CHOOSING YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE SIZE
Several sizes available: S: between 1.55m and 1.64m M: between 1.65m and 1.74m L: between 1.75m and 1.84m XL: between 1.85 m and 1.95 m If you are on the limit between 2 sizes: Choose the smaller size for easier steering (easier to handle) and comfort (straighter back) Choose the larger size for easier pedalling with a more stretched-out position (position more suited to performance).
Frame
The ROCKRIDER ALL MOUNTAIN frame offers 140 mm of travel on the rear wheel. Its geometry has been optimised for performance: steering angle at 68°, bottom bracket 15 mm under the wheel axle. Made of 6061 and 6013 aluminium. Switch And Ride frame with lifetime warranty: compatible with 27.5" and 29" wheels. 148 mm x 12 mm BOOST rear axle. "Press fit 92" bottom bracket. 31.6 mm diameter seat post. Compatible with a bottle cage. Weight in size S: 2.7 kg.
FRONT SUSPENSION
Have fun on technical terrain! MANITOU Machette AIR front suspension with 140 mm of travel, specific to the ROCKRIDER 100 S AM mountain bike. Hydraulic suspension is both sensitive to small impacts (absorbs the slightest bump at low speed) and takes shocks well (absorbs large obstacles at high speed). Direct locking front suspension (in intermediate position or locked) on the handlebar using the Combo Lock handle. Suspension compatible with 27.5 "and 29" wheels
REAR SUSPENSION
Easily adjust to your weight and lock it to the handlebar. Manitou Mac Leod Air 190X51 rear suspension, specifically perfected for the Rockrider AM 100 S mountain bike. Direct locking rear suspension (in intermediate position or locked) on the handlebar using the Combo Lock handle, which locks the front and rear suspensions simultaneously.
Drivetrain
Stay focused on your pedalling with this single chainwheel. SRAM NX drive train, 1x12 single chainwheel, for lighter weight, more precision, faster gear changing, and greater durability. Chainwheel: 34 teeth, easily replaceable (smallest chainwheel has 28 teeth, largest has 34 teeth) without changing the chain. Cassette: SRAM EAGLE in 11/50 (11-13-15-17-19-22-25-28-32-36-42-50). The 50-tooth sprocket guarantees good gear reduction to help you climb the steepest slopes.
STEERING
Control your steering & stay precise. Rockrider Comp Flat handlebar is 720 mm wide for increased stability. 50 mm stem. Semi-integrated headset with sealed bearings. Lightweight Rockrider 900 "lock on" grips (attached to the handlebar with a screw-on system).
BRAKES
Brakes are both powerful and progressive. Exclusive Rockrider by Tektro dual piston brakes. 180 mm front disc, 160 mm rear disc.
SADDLE / SEAT POST
The ROCKRIDER XC/AM has an ERGOFIT system for greater comfort while pedalling. The telescoping, hydraulic seat post is height-adjustable, with 120 mm of travel, and can be controlled directly from the mountain bike handlebars. The ability to lower the saddle in a flash with simply a flick of the thumb is a true advantage of the All Mountain mountain bike. Feel free (and relaxed!) in your position on the bike during a technical descent.
WHEELS
27.5" PLUS SWITCH & RIDE wheels: prioritise cushioning and clearance with confidence. SUN RINGLE Duroc 40 wheels, with BOOST axles, in 15 mm at the front and 12 mm at the back. Outer rim width: 40 mm. Sealed bearings. Equipped with a sealed rim strip, compatible with Tubeless Ready. To switch to Tubeless Ready: simply add a Tubeless valve and tyre sealant. The original tyres are already Tubeless Ready.
TYRES
Grip and move over all types of terrain. Hutchinson TAIPAN KOLOSS tyres, 27.5 x 2.80. Versatile tyre designed for rides on all types of terrain: smooth, rocky, dry, muddy... Special studs to optimise steering, and sufficiently well spaced out so that they don't get clogged with mud when riding on muddy ground. High side knobs for good grip in the turns.Original front and rear tyres are Tubeless Ready.
PEDALS
The bike comes with B'Twin Flat Evo platform pedals. However, for improved performance when pedalling and for better control of the bike when cycling, we recommend replacing them with clipless pedals with platforms.
EASILY TRANSPORT AND STORE YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE
The front and rear wheels can be easily mounted and removed; only a hex key (size 6) is needed. The rear derailleur has a screed that locks/unlocks easily allowing you to easily attach or remove the rear wheel.
Weight
14.32 kg in size S, without pedals. 14.39 kg in size M, without pedals. 14.66 kg in size L, without pedals. 14.93 kg in size XL, without pedals. The weight can vary based on the tolerance of the components. The complete bike (MTB + fully equipped rider) should not exceed 120kg.
ACCESSORIES
Your Rockrider AM 100 S is compatible with three different wheel sizes: 27.5", 29" and 27.5" PLUS. Using the same frame and components, you always have the option of the wheel format that best suits how and where you plan to ride!
