The Wild Country Wildwire 20CM Expedition is designed for long routes and multi-pitch climbs in the mountains, where keeping your climbing gear lightweight is essential. The carabiners are made from hot-forged aluminum and feature wire gates, which are better suited for cold and wet conditions than traditional solid gates and are significantly lighter. The use of Dyneema® also contributes to the reduced weight: it is much lighter than nylon slings, withstands static loads and abrasion against sharp edges better, and is more resistant to UV radiation, which is particularly relevant in mountainous areas. The expander is slightly longer (20 cm) and helps reduce rope drag or extend anchor points, and when used with the appropriate carabiners, it protects the rope from excessive wear and prevents tangling with the sling.
