The K2 Program snowboard binding is a high-performance model designed for advanced to expert riders who want uncompromising performance. Its 50% glass-filled nylon chassis is complemented by castor bean materials. By replacing traditional plastics and EVA with recycled materials, K2 is taking a major step. The manufacturing process relies on over 40% solar energy, and all packaging is FSC-certified, made from recycled cardboard and paper rather than plastic. The Program is made of approximately 40% plant-based materials by volume and 25% by weight. The DD1 ankle straps and BetterWrap toe straps achieve a 70% reduction in CO₂ emissions per kilo compared to traditional TPU straps. The castor-based FR1 Highback reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 40% per kilo compared to a nylon highback. The sugarcane EVA Shockpad delivers a 90% reduction in CO₂ emissions per kilo compared to traditional EVA. All K2 Snowboarding bindings are delivered in 100% recyclable packaging made from 95% FSC-certified recycled materials, and over 40% of the energy used in their manufacture comes from solar power. A strong commitment to a more planet-friendly snowboarding experience, whilst maintaining the precision and responsiveness that the most demanding riders expect.
