The Petzl Pulse 8 mm combines a twisted aluminum plate and a stainless steel pin (with polyamide components depending on variants) to provide a lightweight, strong, and durable anchor. The plate keeps the connector parallel to the wall, facilitating equipment use and reducing stress on connectors.
Setup is instantaneous thanks to the release piston: a simple action locks the anchor. For extraction, pressing the piston along with pulling on the plate completely removes the anchor, simplifying the operation for cavers.
The notched locking wheel ensures reliable holding for prolonged or group use, even when wearing gloves. The mechanical characteristics (shear and pull-out) guarantee performance suitable for loads encountered in caving.
The design minimizes corrosion underground, allowing visual inspection of the anchor's condition and simplified maintenance thanks to the interchangeable plate, contributing to a more respectful use of underground environments.
Lightweight (45-60 g depending on sources), drilling diameter 8 mm, recommended drilling length 5 cm, main materials aluminum and stainless steel, shear resistance 15 kN and pull-out 12 kN, CE EN 795 and UKCA certifications depending on versions.
