For this release, Jordan was inspired by the UNC shorts that Jordan wore in the NBA as a lucky charm under his Bulls shorts. The release is rounded off by the Every-Game stitching on the heel.
Before the Air Jordan 1, the Air-Ship SP was the first shoe worn by Michael Jordan when he entered the NBA in 1984. The silhouette was designed by Bruce Kilgore, who two years earlier had started the sneaker revolution and the legend of the GOAT with the Air Force 1.
