THE STORY OF THE ROCKRIDER 540 MOUNTAIN BIKE...
Entirely designed and developed in France at the B'Twin Village (Lille), this mountain bike is the fruit of the work of an expert team of passionate mountain bikers. The Rockrider team designed and tested the Rockrider 540 mountain bike with their mountain bike testers.
A UNISEX MOUNTAIN BIKE
Men's or women's mountain bike? The Rockrider 540 mountain bike is unisex. For greater comfort, the women on our team recommend the Rockrider 540 W mountain bike. Designed specifically for women, the saddle and stem are better suited for women's bodies.
HOW DO I CHOOSE MY MTB SIZE?
Several sizes available: S: between 1.50m and 1.64m M: between 1.65m and 1.74m L: between 1.74m and 1.84m XL: between 1.85 m and 2.00 m If you are on the limit between 2 sizes: Choose the smaller size for easier steering (easier to handle) and comfort (straighter back). Choose the larger size for easier pedalling with a more stretched-out position (position more suited to performance).
A FRAME DESIGNED TO COMBINE FUN AND PERFORMANCE
For a lighter weight and more efficient pedalling, the Rockrider 540 frame has been designed with 6061 aluminium (only 1.9 kg in size M). The lower bottom bracket helps keep you more stable during turns.
FRONT SUSPENSION: 100MM TO OVERCOME OBSTACLES
Confront all obstacles with the SUNTOUR XCR fork. Its 100 mm travel allows you to calmly move over more obstacles (roots, pebbles, stones, mud). Its built-in lockout system helps to prevent bobbing and loss of speed on faster terrain.
REAR SUSPENSION: NONE
This mountain bike has no rear suspension. This is a "semi-rigid" mountain bike. Compared to a full suspension mountain bike (with rear suspension), the advantages are clear: lighter weight, you will spend less energy on flat ground. However, if you want more comfort, the RR 540 also exists in a "full suspension" version with a rear shock absorber.
DERAILLEUR & DRIVE TRAIN: REACH GREAT SPEEDS
3 9-speed chainwheels, or a wide range of 27 speeds! 2 quick shifters that are easy to handle on the handlebar. Left (chainwheels): control ascents/descents. Right (speeds): more precise control over your pedalling. In detail: - Triple chainwheels 22, 32 and 44 teeth - MICROSHIFT MS25 front derailleur - SHIMANO ALTUS rear derailleur - SHIMANO ALTUS M370 shifters, with speed indicators - SHIMANO HG 9 cog cassette, 11 to 34 teeth
HANDLEBAR, STEM, GRIPS: TAKE CONTROL
With its adjustable stem, the RR 540 controls are close at hand. The all-aluminium B'Twin stem is 70 mm (size S), 80 mm (size M/L), or 90 mm (size XL) and can be raised using 5 adjustment intervals: + 0mm, + 7.5mm, + 15mm, + 22.5mm, + 30mm. In detail: - Aluminium B'TWIN SPORT "oversize" handlebars are 660 mm (size S and M) or 680 mm (for L and XL) wide - B'TWIN SPORT "soft touch" grips for a good grip and comfortable feel
SADDLE / SEAT POST: COMFORTABLE AND SPORTY SEAT
Since your mountain bike rides will get longer and longer, it is important to have a suitable seat. So our teams have designed the exclusive B'Twin Ergofit Evo saddle. Suitable for all hip sizes, its "hammock" shape is particularly good for sport touring. Along with the 27.2 mm diameter aluminium FLEX seat post, it guarantees greater comfort. Easily adjust the seat height using the ergonomic quick release on the seat clamp.
DOUBLE HYDRAULIC DISC BRAKES: GET A GRIP ON YOUR BRAKING
No matter what conditions you ride in (dry/wet), the B'Twin by Tektro 160mm front and rear double hydraulic disc brakes will do the job, even in the mud. Hydraulic brakes are more powerful and progressive, requiring much less effort when applying pressure on the levers. The aluminium brake levers are easy to grip, lightweight, and precise.
DOUBLE-WALLED 27.5" WHEELS
Embark fearlessly on new adventures on trails with obstacles with the Aero Trail Evo wheels made of double-walled aluminium. Their 27.5" diameter is a perfect balance between comfort and performance, while their 28 spokes provide lightness, stiffness, and durability.
ALL-TERRAIN TYRES
The exclusive B'Twin All Terrain Light 27.5" x 2.0 tyres have a system of lugs specially designed for all terrain use, to travel with you on any type of surface during your mountain bike touring. Recommendations for pressure based on the cyclist's weight are marked on the sidewalls.
PLATFORM PEDALS
The RR540 comes with B'Twin Flat MTB platform pedals, with a wider pedalling surface and more prominent pimples for a better grip on the pedal.
EASILY TRANSPORT AND STORE YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE
Cycle touring does not start from home; that's why we have made it easier to remove and replace the front and rear wheels. They are equipped with a quick-release system.
Weight
13.50 kg in S without pedals. 13.95 kg in M without pedals. 14.05 kg in L without pedals. 14.20 kg in XL without pedals. The weight can vary based on the tolerance of the components. The bike comes with B'Twin Flat platform pedals. The total weight (bike + rider) should not exceed 120kg.
Accessories
Your RR540 mountain bike comes with a bell, lighting, wheel reflectors, and pedals. The frame is compatible with: - Front and rear mudguards - Stand - Bottle cage - Saddle bag - Rear pannier rack - Child seat etc.
