The story of the Rockrider 900 mountain bike...
This mountain bike was fully designed and developed at the B'Twin Village (Lille, France) and is the brainchild of an expert team of mountain bike enthusiasts. We have designed and tested this RR900 mountain bike for mountain bikers who want to surpass their limits and ride even faster when cross-country mountain biking.
A unisex mountain bike
Men's or women's mountain bike? The Rockrider 900 mountain bike is unisex. For greater comfort, the women on our mountain bike team recommend replacing the saddle with the Women's 500 Sport saddle, which is adapted to women's bodies.
Choosing my MTB size
Several sizes available: S: between 1.50m and 1.64m M: between 1.65m and 1.74m L: between 1.75m and 1.84m XL: between 1.85 m and 1.95 m If you are on the limit between 2 sizes, we recommend following the exact size listed.
A frame designed to combine fun and performance
For the RR900, our teams have specifically designed the frame in T4 & T6 6061 aluminium (only 1.8kg in size M). It has been specially designed to meet the needs of those wanting to get started with cross country riding, very demanding in terms of durability and low weight. 73 mm BSA bottom bracket Oversize diagonal tube Conical tapered head tube Available in 4 sizes: S/M/L/XL
Front suspension locks/unlocks on the handlebar
To overcome any obstacles you encounter, the Manitou M30 Air fork and its 100mm travel will always be there for you. Quickly lock and unlock the fork with the 2-position Combo Lock locking system on the handlebars. 1-1/8" aluminium conical pivot, 1.5" taper, for increased rigidity and light weight. Axle: 9 mm.Weight: 1.7 kg
Rear suspension: none
This mountain bike has no rear suspension.
Derailleur & drive train: single drive train for optimal performance
The RR900 inaugurates the new line of single-chainwheel SRAM drive trains. The SRAM NX 1x11 drive train ensures light weight, durability, precision, and better control of your mountain bike. Chainwheel size: 30 teeth, easily replaceable (up to 32 teeth) without changing the chain. SRAM PG1103 cassette with 11 cogs: 11, 13, 15 ,17, 19, 22, 25, 28, 32, 36, 42 teeth. The 42-tooth sprocket guarantees good gear reduction to help you climb the steepest sections.
Handlebar, stem, grips: keep control
Since cross country requires good control of your steering position, we equipped this mountain bike with an oversize low rise Rockrider 900 XC Series handlebar (slightly curved). Its 680 mm width guarantees good stability and optimal comfort when steering. The ROCKRIDER XC stem is adapted to each size (80mm in size M, 90mm in size L, and 100mm in size XL) Semi-integrated headset with sealed bearings. ROCKRIDER 900 light lock on grips.
Saddle / Seat post: comfortable and sporty seat
Our designers have developed the new Rockrider 900 Series saddle to be lighter (only 265 g) and more comfortable during pedalling. With a 29.8 mm diameter and 350 length, the B'Twin Comp seat post offers a wide range of adjustments and a raised riding position.
Double hydraulic disc brakes: incisive braking
The exclusive 160 mm TEKTRO TKD 32 double hydraulic disc brakes will stop you in all circumstances. With their 2 pistons, semi-organic pads, and aluminium body, they combine power and light weight, essential for cross country riding. For even more efficiency, the brake levers have been specially designed to be quickly manipulated with 2 fingers.
27.5" wheels & lightweight all-terrain tyres to withstand XC rides.
The MAVIC CROSS RIDE FRS-X wheels made of S6000 aluminium will carry you over all terrain. Lightweight and durable, their 27.5" diameter guarantees an excellent balance between handling obstacles, comfort, and manoeuvrability. The 27.5 x 2.1 HUTCHINSON PYTHON 2 tyres are recognized in the world of cross country for their excellent performance on dry, slightly rough terrain.
Platform pedals
The bike comes ready to use with B'TWIN FLAT PRO platform pedals. However, to optimise its performance, you can replace these with clipless pedals (not included).
Easily transport & store your mountain bike
The front and rear wheels can be mounted or removed in one easy step: you just need a hex key (size 6). The rear derailleur has a pin that easily locks and unlocks to mount or remove the rear wheel.
Weight
11.8 kg in size S, without pedals. 12kg in size M, without pedals.12.2kg in size L, without pedals. 12.4 kg in size XL, without pedals. The weight can vary based on the tolerance of the components. The bike is supplied with B'Twin Flat Pro platform pedals. The total weight (bike + rider) should not exceed 120kg.
