What makes the Hoop 500 innovative compared to other basketball hoops?
The Hoop is an innovative product exclusive to Decathlon. Which child basketball player hasn't wished they could take a basketball hoop with them on holiday or to the park with friends? However, a basketball hoop is by definition fixed (to a wall or on a base on the ground). The hoop is a true revolution. It is light, compact and has two straps, meaning you can take it anywhere and attach it to any tree or post. It is the ideal hoop for having fun with friends or family anywhere.
Which ball can be used with the Hoop?
The ideal ball for playing with the Hoop is the Tarmak Wizzy from Decathlon. The Wizzy is a size 5 basketball that is 18% lighter than a classic ball. It is the right size for the Hoop's rim and allows players, particularly younger children, to shoot from farther away! Wizzy balls are designed to match our Hoop range, so you can gift the right size ball and hoop together!
New addition to the Hoop 500
Our product team has improved this product by adding a net, for even more fun during play!
What are the dimensions and weight of the Hoop?
Dimensions - Width: 46 cm. - Height: 58 cm. - Thickness: 7 cm (when the Hoop is closed) Weight: 1.7 kg.
Did you know that all TARMAK products are tested in the lab and in match conditions?
The design team behind the TARMAK products is based at the Kipstadium training centre in Northern France. Always striving to improve players' comfort, we test our products in the lab and in real play situations in order to be as close as possible to your play needs.
Who designs the Tarmak basketball products?
Our team of designers, who also play, develops the TARMAK range of basketball products. We design and test our products to meet the needs of the most demanding players. Our goal: your fun on the court!
What ball should you use?
The ball size depends on the player's age and sex. Baby basketball: size 1 to 3. Girls and boys under 10: size 5. Girls aged 10 and up, women, and boys aged 10 to 12: size 6. Male player aged 12+: size 7. If you want a very durable ball, go for a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good feel, leather or synthetic are the right materials.
