      XS(51-53 cm), S(53-55 cm), M(55-57 cm), L(57-59 cm), XL(59-61 cm)
    2. Ventilation:
This riding helmet has 51 ventilation holes on the shell and 57 holes on the padding. These holes help the warm air to exit at the top and in the back of the riding helmet.
    3. Flexible brim:
Flexible brim compliant with European standard.
    4. Lightweight:
      400 g.
    5. Adjusting the helmet:
For optimal protection, the helmet should be in close contact with the head without squeezing it. When the harness is properly adjusted the helmet should not slide forward, back, or from side to side.
    6. Harness adjustment:
For optimal support, the harness must go under the throat, like a chinstrap, not over the chin.
    7. Shock absorption:
This helmet has been designed to completely or partially absorb impacts to the rider's head in the event of a fall or violent impact. When an impact occurs, the helmet and/or the padding can deform or break to absorb the energy of the impact. DAMAGE MAY NOT BE VISIBLE, BUT ANY HELMET THAT HAS SUFFERED AN IMPACT MUST BE REPLACED.
    8. Standard:
The harmonised standard EN 1384 was repealed in October 2014. Until a new version is issued, in order for them to be sold in Europe, all helmets produced after 4 November 2014 must undergo testing and be CE marked. This mark must be accompanied either by Directive 89/686/EEC, or by the VG1 01.040 2014-12 document.
    9. Information on standards:
EN 1384 certified helmets can still be worn in training and competitions. However, some organizations may require other standards for their competitions. If in doubt, we recommend that you consult the competition organiser.
    10. Care advice:

    • No kite mark...doh!

      Martin (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
If you want your kids to use this product for riding lessons you'll probably be disappointed; they won't let you because it's not kite marked or PAS15 compliant.

I wish I'd read the other review which tells you this before I bought one and I'd have saved myself 20 quid!

I'll leave it up to you to decide whether Decathlon should have made this clear or not.

If you're reading this after having the same experience you have my commiserations.
      Response of the brand
      Hi Martin,

Thanks for your message. We try to make the information regarding hat legislation as clear as possible on the website and in store, we have banners below all the hats that explain whether the hat is PAS015 certified and therefore suitable for use in competitions/schools, or not. However we understand that it is possible to miss these and would be more than happy to offer an exchange or refund for the hats in question.
      Apologies for the inconvenience,

    • Fouganza helmet

      Andy (United Kingdom)
Used for 2 to 8 weeks
Only problem with it is it's not PAS rated and it didn't say so on the website. I can only use it in private, can't use it at the stables when I have lessons because the insurance specifically ask for PAS and BS rated helmets.
Plus side, it's miles lighter, more comfy and I prefer it to any of the other major brands.
