The State of Hawaii has decided to forbid the use of certain chemical substances in sun creams by adopting a Hawaiian law that will come into force on 1 January 2021.
This law lists chemical substances such as oxybenzone and octinoxate that are often found in sun creams, which can often harm or even destroy coral.

Test product
To ensure that this product has no adverse effect on marine biodiversity, Decathlon's teams have subjected it to a number of tests in terms of biodegradability and impacting coral. These various tests, conducted by independent labs, were able to demonstrate that the mineral sunscreen stick is not toxic to coral, complies with Hawaii's law and that the product biodegrades easily (to 64% within 28 days of testing).
