    1. How can I be sure my jacket will give me proper protection in bad weather?
The Slide 300 jacket was developed with a rigorous arrangement and assembly to prevent water from entering and to limit the feeling of the wind, to help you cope with bad weather (rain, snow, wind, etc.). To check that it is waterproof, this jacket was placed in a special shower reproducing the conditions a skier has to cope with. We approved this product's waterproofing by skiing in different weather conditions for several days.
    2. What is the point of the water repellent property of my jacket?
The water repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to allow water to run off its surface without seeping in. The SLIDE 300 jacket is equipped with water repellent components which prolong the resistance to bad weather. This is an additional technical solution for staying dry for as long as possible on the ski slopes. To remain reliable, this treatment must be renewed regularly using products sold in our stores.
    3. "Coated" jacket: what are the advantages of this coating?
The coating is a waterproofing material spread over the inner surface of a fabric. It prevents water from seeping into the garment but allows the water vapour produced by an active body to escape. So you stay dry for greater comfort while practising your sport.
    4. Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?
In addition to the waterproof fabric, we have enhanced the waterproof rating of the Slide 300 jacket with taped seams. These are waterproof adhesive strips taped to the inside seams of the garment to make it perfectly watertight. These taped seams are located on the areas most exposed to snow, i.e. generally the shoulders and chest.
    5. How will my ski jacket keep me warm?
We use wadding for insulation to help keep you warm. This polyester-based synthetic material traps air, the quantity of which will depend on the size of the fibres. Wadding can be standard, high-tech or siliconised, each with different properties: warmth, lightness, flexibility, etc.
    6. What is a "breathable" jacket?
It is a product that lets the water vapour produced by the body during exercise escape, keeping you dry. To see if a fabric is breathable, we measure its resistance to evaporative heat (RET) in a standardised ISO 11092 test. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric. Wed'ze uses high-tech materials and solutions (zips, ventilation, mesh) that help prevent condensation inside the garment. Slide 300 component Rep < 12
    7. How should I dress to avoid feeling cold on the slopes?
To keep warm and dry, use the 3-breathable-layers rule: 1 ski undergarment and 1 under-jacket to retain warmth, 1 ski jacket to protect you from bad weather.
    8. Where can I put my ski pass when taking ski lifts?
You no longer need to get out your ski pass! Your sleeve has a ski pass pocket, allowing you to access lifts quickly.
    9. Windproof
The fabric is made windproof with a coating or by applying a membrane on the inside. When skiing on the slopes or resting on the ski lifts, protect yourself from the wind to prevent chills and make you as comfortable as possible.
    10. Durability
We know how much energy is expended during a day's skiing or snowboarding. That’s why we take particular care in choosing all the elements that make up our products to guarantee the best possible protection.
    11. Ski pass pocket
You no longer need to get your ski pass out because your sleeve has a ski pass pocket to allow you to access the cable cars quickly.
    12. Care instructions
To optimise your jacket's performance and durability, we advise the following: Machine wash separately at 30°C. Synthetic cycle. Turn inside out. Use a small amount of detergent. No softener. Wring out manually. Dry on a hanger in a warm, well-ventilated place. Do not dry clean. Do not place on a radiator. You can re-waterproof the outer fabric using an aerosol waterproofing spray for fabric. Read the care tag carefully.
    13. A mark to compare the environmental footprint of various products
The product's environmental footprint is calculated for its entire life and with various indicators. A score of A, B, C, D or E is made to help you easily identify the most eco-friendly products by comparing products of a similar type (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks). For Decathlon, this initiative to display environmental data is a priority. Video explanation: https://youtu.be/8t63KkRwn_8 sustainability.decathlon.com
