In which conditions should you wear full-height socks?
These socks are recommended for moderately intense and regular use. For example, if you go out hunting for small game in lowlands, forests or the mountains for several hours every week, or if you hunt woodcock or go stalking, or take long walks on rough and steep terrain, then these Merino wool socks are perfect for you.
What materials are these socks made of?
These socks are made entirely from fine loops of Merino wool, apart from under the foot, where large loops help to absorb perspiration. The top of the foot is ventilated to allow your feet to breathe. The toe and heel are reinforced with polyamide thread. The underside is knitted with a thread that prevents the feet from becoming too warm and blisters from forming. Finally, the entire sock is elasticated for a firm hold.
The advantages of Merino wool
Merino wool regulates body temperature and wicks away moisture. These qualities make it ultra-comfortable and soft. This material also naturally limits the growth of odour-causing bacteria. In other words, after a physical effort and heavy perspiration, merino wool prevents evaporation and helps to maintain body temperature by absorbing most body moisture. This limits the unpleasant chilling effect.
Why should you choose a sock size suited to your foot size?
It is important to choose a sock size that fits your foot to avoid any extra folds: if the sock is too big, there will be too much material around your foot and you will not be comfortable; if the sock is too small, it will be "dragged" down towards the inside of the shoe, which may cause rubbing, pain or even blisters by the end of your outing.
How to wash your Merino wool socks
We recommend you wash these Merino wool socks in the washing machine at 30°, on a normal cycle, preferably with a liquid detergent. Dry flat, NEVER in a tumble dryer, unless you want to shrink them by a size or two!
