    • Perfect bike for the money

      Mark (United Kingdom)
Used for 7 to 12 months
Bought one of these to replace a much more expensive Giant Escape hybrid that got pinched. It's much better than my old bike.

It's quick, handles well and the spec is fantastic for the money. The Shimano stuff is predictably good, and the stuff from brands I've never heard of before is surprisingly good. This bike is amazing value for money and I really don't think any other brands come close.

Yes, the paint job is a bit flimsy, the triple chainset isn't really necessary, and the wheels are a bit skinny and overweight, but these are minor quibbles. It's a great bike to ride and that's all that really matters.
    • Superb quality and value

I bought this bike to introduce my wife to road cycling. It is comfortable and very versatile, with clearance for fatter tyres, carriers and mudguards. Light, responsive, components work well, and it comes with pedals and lights too! Nice touches like spacers and rub protectors on the cables show thoughtful design. Would buy one myself!
Great bike with some nice little touches
Might have preferred a double chain set....
    • Excellent first road bike

      Mehul (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
I purchased this bike around 6 months ago and have been riding it almost daily ever since. I'm very happy with this bike as my first road bike. The gears are very smooth, the frame is sturdy, seat comfortable and my posture is relaxed. I've done many miles on it and have not found any big issues. The only negative are the default tyres - which are too basic. Unfortunately one of my wheel got stollen and I've replaced it with a better quality tyre. I must admit that the bike is riding better with the new tyre. Overall a very nice bike. I would surely recommend it.

    • My Super Fast Rocket!

      Roger (United Kingdom)
Used for 3 to 6 months
I bought a B’TWIN 520 flatbar three months ago, so can now write a review based on its performance during this time. After 30 years of riding mountain bikes I wanted to get back to a ‘sports’ bike, like I had in my twenty’s and was drawn to this bike for its light weight, looks and price. Compared with my mountain bikes this bike is super fast - I call it Rocket – and coasts along superbly, much faster than my previous bikes. I do about 80 km a week and now easily overtake most other bikes on the road.

When I bought the bike, having suffered from runs of punctures on my mountain bikes, I changed the original tyres for puncture-resistant ones and so far have not had a puncture. I also bought a pair of SKS bluemels mudguards (because they happened to be for sale and which the splendid Decathlon staff fitted along with the tyres while I waited). Just recently the rear mudguard has begun to rattle when I go over bumps; a bit annoying and at first glance I cannot find the cause of it, everything seems to be present and tightened properly.

Poor points? The saddle will not tilt up/down or move as far forward as I would like, but otherwise is lovely. I removed the toe clips and lost a pedal reflector on each pedal as they are integrated with the clips. Also, the pedal spindle (the bit your foot pushes down on and that fits into the crank) is much thicker on one side and feels uncomfortable when pedalling on it. So I always have to lift a foot to let the pedal swivel round so that I can pedal on the other side.

Decathlon staff has been very knowledgeable and helpful setting up the bike; full marks to them. I thoroughly recommend Decathlon staff and this super and very agreeable bike.
    • great bike, great value

I use this bike for my daily commute having not ridden for years, the rush hour traffic in Bristol is so bad! It is absolutely great fast and nimble, however I have a couple of niggles - when under stress the gear change can be a little harsh, the paint finish is very hard & I'm being so careful yet a few small scratches have appeared. The pedals do need an upgrade, but I want flat ones and not sure what to go for. That said I love cycling again.
