Only purchased this on the 11th January and have already managed a ride of 50 miles and am very impressed with this bike. The main reason for this feedback is that I cannot praise too highly the service I received from your Lakeside store and more specifically Ben who I dealt with and in my opinion delivered service of an outstanding level, well done and thanks again for your help.

It is so very light and rides well esp for the price, only thing lacking is disk brakes. you may also want some better tyres & peddles.

I started cycling again a couple of years ago & picked up a new, discounted (previous year) Boardman Roadsport for around the price of this bike. The Roadsport is a fine entry level bike & has been more than enough for me but I really struggle on steeper hills. I'd replaced the 12-26 rear cassette with a 12-32 and this helped but I still ran out of low gears quickly on steeps.
So I started looking for a similar spec bike which had a triple front ring to give me a bigger (& lower) range of gears. I also wanted flat bars & the capacity to fit 28-32mm tyres to be more comfortable for light off road use & commuting.
I started my search with Decathalon as I'd considered a Triban when I bought the Roadsport, but as I live a good 60 miles from my nearest store in Sheffield it was difficult to get down to sit on one before purchase. Straight away this Triban met all my needs for a good price. The only thing I would have preferred was a 12-32 rear cassette to give me even lower gears! I phoned Sheffield and the very helpful staff advised that they had an 11-32 cassette that would fit in stock and they could fit it while I waited if I came down to try the bike & decided to buy it.
When I got to the store that afternoon, the service was excellent - left me to myself to check over the bike but there for help & advice when I needed it. I can be a picky customer so I was really impressed. They fitted the replacement cassette & clip in pedals quickly.
On the way home my wife dropped me off for a 20 mile ride home starting with a short but sharp Cat 4 hill and I used all the gears but got up reasonably comfortably - I'd have really struggled with the compact front ring on the Boardman. In all other regards the ride is as I'd expect - good & smooth with positive gear selections. It all just felt good. I've done a few hundred miles on it in the last 2 months from pub tootles with my wife to 50 mile hilly afternoon tours with pals and I can't fault it.
I've swapped the seat out for a £80 Specialized saddle I'd fitted to my Boardman Roadsport last summer, but I'm not surprised at this as it took me 3 saddles to find one I could live with for 6-7 hours a day in the saddle (I did a 100mile ride last year so put a high priority on saddle comfort).
Be aware that the standard tires have no tread whatsoever. I used them for a couple of weeks in the dry and found them perfectly fine but I wouldn't want to use them in the wet. I've got some budget Vittora 28c tyres on there now for commuting.
To sum up I'm very pleased with this bikes & the service from Decathalon Sheffield & wouldn't hesitate to recommend either for the price.
      good weight,good gearset,carbon forks,triple ring
seat was average but you alway need to tailor this

I've never ridden a road bike before. On my first outing with this one, I can't complain with the bike. Solid, sturdy and fluid through corners.

      I got the XL. I'm 6' 1", long legs.

I was oblivious to the fact that there wasn't disc brakes on the bike so my only concern is the performance of the brakes. On my cycle routes, dog owners often let their dogs roam without a lead which led me to fall off my bike on one occasion. Having disc brakes would really make me feel safer.

I really enjoy using it. I cannot fault it, bat the brakes, yet.
