Stratermic softshell component:
Material developed by Stratermic, composed of 3 layers including a windproof inner membrane ("sandwich" construction). Comfortable, soft and breathable fabric that keeps you warm and keeps out rain and wind (water repellent). This lightweight, compact jacket is perfect for outdoor sporting activities. Stretchy elastane offers excellent freedom of movement.
Water repellent outer component:
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. This is achieved through a treatment applied to the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (with every 2 or 3 washes). You are protected from drizzle as water rolls off the fabric's surface.
Microporous membrane:
The membrane is a polyurethane layer sandwiched between the softshell jacket's inner and outer fabrics. It protects from the wind and therefore ensures that body heat does not escape. This membrane is also breathable, and wicks water vapour generated by the body through its microscopic pores to the outside of the garment, preventing moisture build-up and keeping you warm and dry!
