WATERPROOF COMPONENT
We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. Components scoring 2000 mm can resist the pressure from 2000 mm of water (roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
WATERPROOF INSERT or MEMBRANE
A membrane is a very thin (around 5 to 25 micrometres) polymer layer (polyurethane, polyester or PTFE) that is applied to the inner surface of a fabric to make it highly waterproof and breathable.
BREATHABLE COATING
A breathable coating means that the surface is coated with a paste or liquid. Once applied to a fabric, it creates a protective layer often used as a waterproof barrier that wicks away water vapour.
WATER REPELLENT COMPONENT
All Wedze gloves are equipped with water repellent treatment.
Water repellent fabric allows water to run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight and warm. Fabric is made water repellent by applying a surface treatment. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (every 2 or 3 washes). Products for this purpose are available in our stores.
WINDPROOF
All Wedze gloves are Windproof.
Do you know that you feel colder in the wind? Where the outdoor temperature is 0° with a wind-speed of 20 km, it feels like -10°.
"Windproof" components reduce this cooling effect by stopping the air flow owing to the wind and owing to the relative speed of the sports activity.
EASY TO PUT ON
With the inner webbing structure, gloves are quick and easy to pull on.
All Wedze have Webbing (except the ACCES model)
LOSS PREVENTION
An elasticated strap prevents you losing your gloves when taking them off on the ski lift.
