Choice guide

If you are a Freeriding beginner, the Rookie will be your ideal ski.

If you already enjoy off-piste skiing, your choice will be between the Patrol and the Slash.

The Patrol is for those who love serious skis that grip and are versatile, whereas

the Slash is for those who prefer super-playful skis.

Powder chasers will be delighted with Pow Chasers on their feet.

Which skier are you?

If you have an intermediate level on groomed slopes, but you dream of powder snow, the Rookie is the ski that will let you dare to take your first step! Designed for beginner freeriders looking for a comfortable ski on piste and an easy ski off-piste. Reassuring, easy to handle and forgiving, it will help you discover off-piste on the edges of groomed slopes with the markers in sight, and then slowly going further afield.

Free touring skis + bindings + skins

A pair of ROOKIE skis come in a pack with Ambition 10 MN ski touring bindings and skins.

The binding is fitted on an adjustable plate that lets you adjust the length of the binding to fit all foot sizes.

Thanks to this fitting, you can lend your skis, change the boot size, etc.

It’s a huge advantage when discovering free touring.

Compatibility with soles – Alpine, GripWalk

Suitable for boots measuring between 259 mm and 38

Ski skins

The skins that come with the ROOKIE skis are trimmed and cut to the length and width of the ski.

They are made of 70% mohair and 30% synthetic. The best compromise between glide performance (to reduce exertion)/grip (when climbing to limit the recoil effect).

The skins are fitted with a front calliper for quick fastening on the tip and an adjustable camlock on the back to fasten the skin to the tail of the ski.

BINDINGS

The 10 MN Ambition is unrivalled as an Alpine ski touring ski binding thanks to a natural flex of the ski and the highest performance level downhill. It fits adult Alpine ski boots (ISO 5355 TYPE A), adult GripWalk (ISO 23223 TYPE A) and all ski touring boots (ISO 9523). The binding can be adjusted to different base lengths from 260 to 350 mm.

DIN setting: 3 - 10

Description

The 90 mm width under foot gives good stability and comfort when snow changes. Its shape with small camber under foot and its front and back rockers let you pivot easily for better handling no matter what the snow quality. It’s ideal for your first outing on powder snow in 15 to 20 cm of fresh snow.

Structure

Woodcore Tec is a structure with a wooden core (beech and fir) and vertical edges. The advantage of this construction? It makes the ski extremely versatile and comfortable, whatever the type of snow.

Weight

In 162 cm, ski only: 1,570 g, ski + binding pack: 2,550 g

170 cm, ski only: 1,720 g, ski + binding pack: 2700 g

178 cm, ski only: 1870g, ski + Binding pack: 2850g

What is a camber?

When placing a ski on the ground, its points of contact are found near the nose and tail, whereas the middle of the ski (under the bindings) is slightly raised (this is the camber). The longer and higher the camber, the greater the edge grip and more responsive the ski. The lower the camber, the more forgiving the ski and the better the handling.

What is a rocker?

On a “rocker” ski, the nose, and sometimes the tail, comes off the ground much sooner than with a cambered ski. This moves the points of contact towards the centre of the ski. The surface of the ski in contact with the snow is shortened: they have better handling and more buoyancy on soft snow. When leaning into turns, the edge length offers more grip on hard snow. The longer the rocker, the better the handling of the ski.

Preparation

Tips for storage and maintenance

Storage tips
