What is the trade-in service and why does Decathlon offer it?
Our Buy Back service offers you the possibility to trade in your sports equipment quickly and easily at any Decathlon store, giving your products a second life.
What items can you trade in?
We buy back a large number of different products, but there are specific details depending on the country and the store where you wish to use our Buy Back service. In short, how do I know if my product is eligible for the Buy Back service? Get an online estimate for your product first!
What items are not eligible for trade in?
Please note that certain products are never eligible for repurchase, such as personal protective equipment (helmets, safety vests, etc.), equipment deemed dangerous (bows, arrows...), swimwear, underwear and any other first-layer textiles, food products, and finally, products withdrawn from sale or subject to a quality recall.
What info do I need to provide to get a quote?
We will need several pieces of information to estimate the value of your sports product: the type of product and its brand, its current condition, the year of purchase and its original price. If everything checks out, to finalise the buy-back process, we will need your ID.
How do I get paid for trading in my item?
Your product is bought back from you in the form of a voucher valid for two years in any Decathlon store. Or, you can receive a bank transfer instead.
What condition should my item be in to be eligible for trade-in?
Your product must be in good condition (it may need minor repairs) and clean. For more details on the product condition criteria, go online to complete its assessment.
